she's Lukes "old flame" (Rachel) theyy are together in season 1, but then she leaves because she realises Lukes inlove with Loralie, and not her. So Rachel is not the same girl as the psychologist (Linny or something i think her name was):D hope it helped:D

Thanks for including the scene (WITH dialogue) where Luke is bringing ice to the party and Lorelai gives him a big hug and says, "You're the best!" . . . as Emily looks on. For some reason I have recently been obsessed with that scene and I couldn't find it WITH the words.
