I was here. That is awesome that you have footage of it. I remember seeing National Guard troops standing guard throughout to really mess with the vibe, but the location was awesome. It rained early in the morning and I had to drive back down to OC in my 69 bug with 1 wiper - FRIED. Great time!
There was an article about raves in the Early 90's In a Rolling Stone June 2001 Issue. I heard there was a rave in Catalina Island. The Flyer for that Rave had Gilligan on It. I have some older friends who say they would go to these Raves around L.A> I remember in 1996 there was this Purple Shield event in Downtown L.A> and a they were giving out these orange vials to drink. They looked like testtubes. and a bunch of People got sick and hospitalized. I saw that footage on FOX news at 10 iwas16
The name of the party was "Gilligans Island" and was thrown by Tef, who one year later would be legendary for his Circa 92 party. Gilligans Island was fresh, so fresh a couple had sex in the middle of the dancefloor, lol. Shit was raw back then, miss it.
It has been so long since I have even heard happy hardcore. Why did the rave era end in 2001 because the damn REPUBLICANS came into office and decided to be our parents. If the DEMS take over in 08' let the scene come back please its been so long. This newer generation will follow. Kids were soo much nicer back then.
Yeah, OK. Except the real underground rave scene was pre-92 (pre-MARS FM). That would also be pre-Bubba; but I would not necessarily associate any political party with good times. Those 2 are just flip sides of the same coin anyhow.

I would LOVE to, but it's on Hi-8 format and at the time that I copied it to VHS, Moby wasn't "big" yet. Now, I no longer have a Hi-8 player. Sorry.
