(2) Israel is easily the number 1 recipient of US aid. Egypt is 2nd -- and they are being paid as part of the peace agreement with Israel -- so it really is more aid for Israel.
(3) Basic math. US gives Israel billions each year. Some comes back to buy military hardware from US companies. End result -- Israel up billions, US companies make a few bucks, US taxpayer out billions.

The funny part is Israel's buddy America: It wanted to remove a sentence from the UN statement of this killing, that comdemned "all on-purpose attacks against UN troops". So according to US, it's ok to attack against UN troops on purpose. Fine.
Yeah and Israel bombed UN-observer troops on purpose. It was as obvious as it gets. An outpost that's been there for _10 years_ gets bombed 14 times "by accident". While still nothing, it gets bombed for the 15th time killing UN observers with no guns whatsoever. The outpost was also clearly marked in case the israeli soldiers had "forgotten" about it during the 10 years. How cool is that?
