  • its nice to know that all the greyhound experts of the world are here on youtube commenting on what others should be doing with their own dogs...calm down guys the owner didn't force her dog to swim in shark infested waters, she's just playing around in a lake.

  • To add to my previous comment, if you are going to let her swim, at least put a life vest on her. My italian greyhound has attempted to swim (in our pool) but they can tire easily and sink due to low body fat - you say you would jump into a tsunami to save her, but how are you going to see her in a lake? not trying to judge or be negative but as the other poster said, unforeseen circumstances could arise and i would hate for something to happen to your little girl.

  • @shess0501 , Im more than careful with my dog , she turned 10 years old last month , no arthritis , no sight problems , no hearing problems , when we saved her from the SPCA they said she would probably not make it to this age so perfectly being a Greyhound , when she went for her injections the vet said she looked half her age , and there was nothing at all wrong with her , shes broken her ribs (we let them heal themself cause we couldnt afford a vet) , she eats chocolate , and shes so perfect

  • @LoveTiaHorseCrazyX she eats chocolate? um, chocolate can kill a small dog with low body fat content such as an italian greyhound easily. sight hounds should never be let off leash in a non fenced area. regardless of how cute it is, and how obedient you believe your dog to be, a sudden change in circumstances could cause her to bolt and you would not be able to catch her. an extremely obedient show dog whippet bolted on an airport tarmac a few yrs ago and was never seen again.

  • @shess0501 oh god.... stfu!

  • I thought greyhounds couldn't swim, because they are so barrel chested they could flip upside down, not to mention their legs are the best for paddling.

  • @MaggieMuffet , well they can , so now you kno , haha , clearly theyre not good swimmers looking at my dog , but shes never flipped upside down or anything , shes aaaaawesome

  • correction, she didn't put the greyhound in the water, it went in itself!

You are right they have no body fat but they are perfectly capeable of swimming.

  • with some part I was kidding and your right they can swim but not very long :)

  • Dude why are you putting a greyhound in the water they have no body fat they could drown!!!!!!!

  • lol, i dnt put her in.. shes litterally retarded.. lol

i wud jump into a tsunami to save her.. so i doubt she wud drown..

  • Daisy loves to sleep on my bed :) when we took her to the beach she was really confused about what the water was

  • lol

  • well you try swimming with a pair of chopsticks for legs!!

  • lol.. tru

  • @scatpep Tia loves to swim, she may look funny doing it, but shes having fun, so im happy, dont judge a book by its cover, I didnt throw her into the sea, she was swimming in a lake, where the currents arent strong, and I kept an eye on her the whole time, if you have a problem with that, call the animal police, show them the video, and then they can sort it out from there

  • GRRR, i keep deleting peoples comments thinking remove means reply !!!!!!!!

  • Great ..Fun Greyhounds are good pets

  • she such a cutie!!!!ARE greyhounds good house\family dogs?

  • all dogs are good for familys,

but greyhounds are really good, if you are looking to buy one, the retired racers are really nice and usually they get abandoned if not sold.

  • Greyhounds are amazing house animals. My family is going on owning our fourth and fifth hound. Very tender loving dogs, and I hope you have a couch or two for them to sleep all day on :) How ever, they are street stupid. Always keep leashed in open roads and fields. Had two get out the door running around and it was hard to catch them. Thank god I am not in a heavy traffic area.

  • My greyhound, Tia, loves lazing around.

I don't know how people ban dogs from sleeping inside, mine doesn't only sleep on my bed, but under my covers, I don't care, she's my best friend!

When Tia goes in the fields, she chases the rabbits and brings them to me and then lets them go again.

When she's near the road, she is ok, but as you said, she is street stupid!

If she sees a dog/cat/rabbit across the road she will dart across.

Now we live on a farm, I let her play in the paddocks.

  • @Frostman182 Im not in a traffic area, but I live on a country road where the cops hardly ever come down, maybe once a year (if that), and so boy racers like to go waaaaaay over the speed limit, and once someone left the gate open, and usually Tia knows to stay in the garden, but this day she went for a walk about, and apparently some school kids told us she just slowly walked infront of the school bus expecting it to stop cause shes a 'V.I.P' (Very Important Pet), she was so lucky to not be hit

  • whoops! sorry, I deleted your message trying to click reply, lol, well I accepted

  • try agian mate

  • shes a very stupid dog she cant swim to save her life

  • lol yeah
