I have a 3 month albino male kahl strain

now out of all my boas my albino takes the longest to eat i am just curious is this with all albinos or is mine just weird , because sometimes he will go 2 weeks with out eating and like i said he def is a challenge but i love him to death

@WickedTattoos My boa takes AGES and I mean ages to eat her rat.I could eat my dinner and she would still not be done.I just turn the lights out so It's pitch black and it seems to work.

@xxtasha10xx it  takes forever and some times i get concerned thats all , i have about 40 snakes altogether and he is the one that doesnt like to eat , or its like the rats are made of molasses

@WickedTattoos Have you tried slicing the rats head? I find that mine doesn't seem to know where the rat is if it isn't bleeding.

How can I tell if my albino boa ('08 I think) is A Sharp or Kahl She looks a lot like yours as a baby BEAUTIFUL , I have read the two "strains" are incompatible for breeding.

Is there much difference. Is it observable? Does it make any difference?

usually sharps are nicer with more colors when they grom up and not going all tellow like the kahl strain does.

Tho there are amazing and dull examples of each out there and sometimes it's tough to tell w/o lineage and history from the breeder.

Males get around 6 foot, some shorter some slightly longer, females, 7/8 foot but a few get bigger. They make great pets but babies can be snappy and they arnt childrens snakes.

Beautiful Boa's !! thanks for posting. I have kept snakes for years in Boston and am obsessed with the Kahl Snoww Boa and Albino Boas. Unfortunately my wallet isn't equally obsessed. - I have a great Albino Nelson's Milk snake and two really nice Corns from Kathy Love.

If near the same price go for a sharp albino!

They are worth more and tend not to yellow out as much as Kahl

Beware tho as both line are incompatible with each other!

there are 2 different strain of albino in Bci... One is Kahl and much cheaper and the other is Sharp which has alot more color in most cases. Both strains are not compatible with each other too!!!

thanks for responding! i almost forgot to say that im a big fan and i think yur boas and corn snakes are awesome and all have badass names. i looked up the nicaraguan boas and theyre awesome! like mini redtails. have u ever seen one? they seem like theyre pretty rare.

You could also consider a Dumerils boa they get nice and big but seldom more then 6 feet. There are also dwarf strains of Dumerils that top out about 3 feet but they are hard to find.

Then there are the various Pacific Ground Boas (aka Viper Boas) that only get 2-3 feet but keeping them healthy and on a feed can be a challenge
