"gutting and cleaning a chicken in their own back yard" I find this funny, but will admit one day when I buy a house I will do this and hope to have a simple garden and a few food animals.
Also I cut up store bought chickens for my own table, a single person can get 4-6 portions of meat off each chicken and variety at that! well worth the time it takes to process them.
When the system collapses these assholes will be among the countless others who've relied on others to feed them their entire lives who'll crawl out of urban hell holes to storm these same peoples gardens & animals who they demonized when they were comfortably living in their holier than thou cushy lives - feeling like they are high and mighty because they shop at a vegan store. that vegan store .. gonna be no more.
people really trip me out getting upset when someone raises & kills an animal they have grown themselves - for sustenance - not money. If they want to pitch a bitch they need to take their ass to the massive Industrial animal plants & see what horror & inhumanity is. Do they not realize that by trying to stop a homestead practice they are only adding to the REAL cruelty?
I have a home for your roosters. They can live with my python. He is very friendly and likes to "hug" other creatures. He has had bad luck as many of his friends seem to abandon him (I cant seem to find the rabbit he used to hang around with). If he has no new friends he is so unhappy he starts to lose weight. Because of this I am always looking for new friends for him. I am sure your roosters would get along well with him.
Thank you for your kind donation to the python friend/food effort.
i like eating pythons there good tucker .just like preparing eels or eel-tailed catfish, you need good pliers for peeling the skin off.i only eat carpet snakes .there good eating trust me.p.s i ate a diamond python once very nice.
Im having the same trouble, and I do happen to eat chicken...soooo unless anyone wants to save my roosters(im saving 5 diff for breeding)..they will be sacrificing themselves for me soon..good video btw- sounds like telling anyone might not be a good idea lol
Tell you what, if you get a terminal disease let me know if your think there are some ways to die that are more compassionate than others or not.
This video is not about the desirability of killing animals for food or vegetarianism. For the purpose of this video, it is a given that chickens are going to be killed and eaten. Some ways to kill chickens are kinder than others.
A really cheap way to treat a whole chicken is to go ahead and de-bone the breast meat, and use that breast bone along with the two pieces of back and make soup out of it!
Hate to say it, but I think those excess roosters ended up on someone's dinner table , anyway........who else would take a rooster? They don't lay eggs. They're noisy & aggressive. We gave away our kids neglected rabbit to a "good home". Found out later that they killed it even though they said they wouldn't.
I was only looking for the basic information, but I'm VERY glad I ran into this video!!! Hilarious and informative. Your family sounds like a hoot. Thank you!
Wonderful video! Thank you so much for using part of mine in it! It means so much. We had a processing party yesterday and I added some video's, you can check them out if you want. Again wonderful, informative video! Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words. I felt really like I hit the jackpot when I found you folks doing what so many others who want to take care of their own needs want to do too.
Well when processing birds we see it as we raise the birds, give them a great life, give them thanks, process them quick and humanely and they thank us by putting food on the table. The last 2 video's I posted really explain alot of what is going on. Again thanks so much!
damn my comment didn't work-well I did one yesterday blind, as it were and within' 45 minutes I was eating it.--it was tough!--I've read to hang it for two days but not a chance.
i could have cut it up better. The testicles were interesting. 1 down, some learning to do-thanks to you and about 10 to go.
LOL! Well, doing anything well takes some practice. I guess the best thing is to just do it.
Home grown chickens that are allowed to run around and actually use their muscles will naturally have tougher muscles than those that are raised in confined environments. Try pressure cooking older birds.
Oh my--I hadn't thought of that--they run and fight--but they are just 5-6 months old. But huge-most are trying to crow--like a mocking loud laugh Ah HA!
Well, the younger, the more tender they will be. But, you need them big enough to be worth eating. You will get to know what you like best. Remember to do slow moist heat or pressure cook tougher birds.
You're welcome. I hope it helps someone who chooses to grow their own eggs and meat. Chickens can be quite cheap to keep when you consider the price of eggs these days. But, you must have a plan for the extra roos.
I could listen to you for hours !!! Great videos!!

Your first two videos links are dead now. They were removed by the user. They probably had the same issue that you had, only not from family.

I'd like to see just how many (especially in the U.S.) of these loudmouthed people GROW THEIR OWN foods. Hypocrites.
this isn't directed at just those you're speaking of btw. I just vented it here. I see these pretentious assholes everywhere.

I'm sure they are at least 7-9 pounds! Thanks about the mooist heat--I fired them. Have you heard of hanging them for days--cool nor not? Creepy.
nicanicabad 3 years ago
I know that they age beef to make it more tender. But, I would be reluctant to do it with chicken, myself. Too much danger of food poisoning.
