I find the assumption that god would have apparently plastered his existence into the mind of everyone to be completely ridiculous. One way we could find out: raising a kid since birth without ever mentionning any religion to him or her and then check what his religion is. If he has no religion (which will logically be the case), then the argument is invalid.
There have been cases of children who've gone pretty much feral due to isolation. One case I saw a short clip about showed a young girl on all fours and barking. I sincerely doubt she was barking about "God".
what I said didn't really imply that you need the child to be isolated from any human contact, just that religion never gets mentionned. Of course, complete isolatoin would mean there's virtually no error in the ''experiment'' but there's obviously ethical problems with that...

Me neither. I've met people like that in person and I normally don't debate them because they are not interested in true argumentation and sticking to those basic tenets. The "You know god exists" isn't a real assertion, it's an opinion and an annoying one that is pushy and presumptuous.
Tooltime is more patient than I am. But it gives budding skeptics more clue-batting against the usual logical fallacies fundies employ and does help the groundwork greatly.

I find the assumption that god would have apparently plastered his existence into the mind of everyone to be completely ridiculous. One way we could find out: raising a kid since birth without ever mentionning any religion to him or her and then check what his religion is. If he has no religion (which will logically be the case), then the argument is invalid.

There have been cases of children who've gone pretty much feral due to isolation. One case I saw a short clip about showed a young girl on all fours and barking. I sincerely doubt she was barking about "God".

what I said didn't really imply that you need the child to be isolated from any human contact, just that religion never gets mentionned. Of course, complete isolatoin would mean there's virtually no error in the ''experiment'' but there's obviously ethical problems with that...

I mean, in addition to not believing in God, the people going to his channel have lots of other cultural influences that could also influence their "world views".
Nobody exists in a vacuum.

The fact that many outpsoken atheists agree with each other on many points isn't because of some doctrine of Atheism that requires these beliefs of adherents, it is because the thought processes that lead many people to atheism also lead to other similar understandings.
In truth, atheists often disagree on a great many things, and there are also people out there who are atheists for really quite bad reasons who may not agree even on almost anything with other atheists.

His argument about wanting to "pretend" to be an atheist to pick up chicks could easily apply to Christians too. I have a religious "friend" who meets women all the time at church functions. It's like an exclusive little circle; he can weed out the bad seeds who don't share his beliefs. Groups of young Christians seem to be very keen to build their lifestyle around the church, so I don't see where he gets off criticizing atheists for this tendency, which is inaccurate anyway.

Where I think Shaun just sort of distanced himself from other people in order to protect his views, Brock seems to just totally live in a world devoid of anyone but himself, that's the impression I get anyway.
