Using touch screens for every dash function is definitely a bad idea. Properly placed and sized buttons and knobs have worked for years. There's no need to take the tactile and safe functionality out of dashboards for the sake of being slick and sleek.
Touch Screens and Touch pads are cool and all until it gets cold out and you need to wear driving gloves, because touch screen buttons won't work when your wearing gloves! Not to mention that if that touchscreen or pad decides to glitch and turn off, none of your buttons will work! No radio no sat nav no air conditioning, nothing. I prefer that they stick with buttons so I don't have to do 4 things just to turn on my radio which used to be an instant task. TOUCH SCREENS/PADS FOR THE LOSS!

Fiat's slow sales are due to bad timing. see a couple years back the only small cars you could buy were the Mini & the Fit.. recently the segment exploded. New touch screens are bullshit, and specially if you think about it's probably made in China. We all know how these things works. Like Apple, it works until it doesn't. True enough, but that's too dangerous when you're driving in your car at 120km/h and you suddenly need to turn on the windscreen heater in a hurry, and you have to spend 30 seconds scrolling up and down, pressing and looking for the OK button. A simple "grab on the knob" would make it in 1 second. SAFETY FTW!

I disgree with your view on there being less "feel" to touchscreen technology. While someone in the Northeast might use the defroster more than the A/C, the opposite is true for the same car owner in Arizona. Seeing a touch screen technology is customizable (is that a word?), Mr. NY owner could customize the buttons in the order he or she chooses, which could be different for every driver... now about borrowing your friend's car...

sometimes when manufacturers don't change much it can be a good thing...each time something changes the techs at the grassroot service level need to learn how to address and repair the new component/technology. If Honda sticks with the same engine choices for the accord and doesn't completely change the trim it gives the company time to refine the product.

I think the Accord coupe would be better if there were an AWD option. Touchscreen infotainment centres are useless, but they're a phase; eventually, all cars will have voice recognition.
