It's a GREAT movie, about a really genuine, hardworking bunch of guys that have a helluva lot more inspiration and guts than the vast majority of us. You come away from it really admiring what they do, even if it ain't your kind of music. A MUST SEE...if it's the last think you do. They'll be blowin' out the windows at the Academy Awards, I'm sure. I can't wait!
Anvil were actually quite successful ca. '81/'83. You don't make a cover of the world's biggest metal magazine, Kerrang!, which Lips did, if you're a nobody band. Anvil got left behind ca. '84 when their soon-to-be ex label released an album of outtakes against their wishes and they were forced to sort things out business-wise. When they got back in the game speed/thrash metal and bands like Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer had taken over and Anvil were no longer considered cutting edge or cool.
Too bad it isn't in theaters in KS yet.

Who is this Mark doofus?! Anvil didn't make a comeback 20 years later - they never went away and are up to 13 albums by now. Do your research, fool.

13 albums that nobody bought. The idea of comeback in this case implies that they are trying to return to success.
