I actually had one with the same issue a few years ago...they fixed it in a couple weeks no problem. FYI Nightforce does not stock anything, they make the scopes as they are ordered. Lead times vary between 1-3 months.
NIghtforce sucks!, I ordered one and the elevation cap was bent, so when I turned the elevation knob, the bent part scratched the tube! I turned the knob all the way up and down and completely scratched off the furnish and indication numbers. I took off the cap then saw that it was bent and not a complete circle. It was inspected by CR June 2010. They lie about their 70 point inspection. Then when I returned it they were out of stock. Do not buy a Nightforce.

I shot with my nxs for about 7 years with out a hitch, then one day it would not hold its point of aim, ( would be off by 2 minutes @ 100yd after every shot in every direction) so i sent it in and they said yes it was broken and sent me a brand new one wich I sold for more than I paid. went with U.S optics. Nightforce is still a awsome scope and company (lightforce).
@javikmt LOL if you have to ask your not a sniper, but to answer the question the NSX model would be, as a sniper doesnt need to be as accurate as a benchrest shooter. The knobs are more pronounced and robust and the side paralax means the shooter doesnt really have to move around as much. :)
@GeneralG1810 sorry, I am spanish, I dont realy know how to say what I want. But the thing is than I would like to get something to hunt and to use in competitions. I know that the 1/8 moa is better, for benchrest but I didnt know if is as hard as the NSX... Finally I bought the NXS 12-42, works nice for everything, but I havent try the other one, here we dont have to much Nightforce as in america or Germany, but thank you really much for your answare!
Well, you already know what MOA is, so I'm assuming that you know how to adjust for elevation in order to hit distant targets. Internal adjustment it the amount of internal elevation adjustment available, for example, the .308 Winchester would need say 30 MOA of adjustment for 800 yards. Click value is how many MOA is adjusted per click, in this case, 1/4 MOA per click.
Best optics on earth. I have a 5.5-22x56 NXS and it is simply amazing. Low light performance is unmatched. Resolution and clarity is perfect even at high magnifications. Definitely worth the money, no question about it.
@rileym21 since you have experience with the NXS, answer me this.. is your particular scope first focal plane, or does your reticle size stay constant at all magnifications? Thanks
I want a NXS in a bad way

But it's never said if either scope is 1st or 2nd focal plane.

I wonder if the illumination for the NXS is adjustable as on the bench model, he didn't say?

why nightforce doesnt offer the BR in 1/4moa...

@11Bulletstopper Why would you want it? We're talking bench rest here. 1/8moa is more precise.

with one is better for sniping? nxs o the other one??
javikmt 2 years ago
probably the NXS since its more rugged and has 1/4 MOA adjustments insted of 1/8. the parallax is also more easily accesible on the side

@rileym21 zeiss, s&b and swaro have better low light performance and sharpness. but the nxs is verry solid! and is worth the money:)
