McDonalds is Boeng, the huge mega buck corporation and franchises while the small restaurant is NASA. So look to your own statements for the answer. Why would you want to work for boeing and design a bolt when you could work for nasa working with contractors on the next booster system.

The average aerospace engineers career expectancy is 11 years, at the NASA tiered payment system, thats about enough to pay off your student loans and pay for a house if you are lucky.

NASA isn't a restaurant , its more of a soup kitchen for the homeless, its purpose is not to sell things, but to support a bunch of hungry scientists.
