I saw a bi-level at the Raritan Valley Line train yard in Raritan. It was parked in the engine house with a PL42 at the end. Right now all you can see is the front of the PL42 but i remember it being out further
Only for the test train they used the PL. They use it for its DTN capabilities. DTN is the diagnostic trainline network which the older locomotives do not have.
the NJT bi-levels dont blow their horns to often either do they. Back when they first came into service they did do to the eliminated crossings but they blow them more past new haven
They most certainly sound NOTHING like Comet IVs, If anything comet Vs, They sound good but they are out of tune, come IVs have reversed chimes, these are foward.

Foam for clearance testing. The cars were loaded with sensors to see if any impacts or strikes happend along the way.

I actually meant from Long Branch to Bay Head. No i know they're been operated from Long Branch to NYC. I've ridden on them dozens of times.

Actually that was the 7001. the 7500 was behind it, and I dont remember what the rest of the coaches were. I only have photographs of the first two.

They're not operating them on the NJCL yet. Hopefully sometime soon though.
