@cjumilla1 hey thanks a lot. Sedona huh, I bet there is a lot of fun things to find up that way. I know Jerome has a lot as well. Do you have video of any of the places you've been? Thanks for watching!
Ive been in there before with some buddies. It was pretty creepy because there were feathers and blood of pigeons smeared all over the floor and walls.I seriously thought someone or something was watching us.
ya theres video but its not very good cause it was so dark. there were dogs in there chasin us around and bums. We took baseball bats with us just incase
Really? I wonder who called on you. Maybe someone from the trailer park right there is all I can think of unless a cop just happened to drive by and see your lights. Take any pics of videos?
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures and the last time i was there was like a year ago...I heard they are starting to rebuild it a little, but i bet its still creepy...Its on Val Vista and Adobe and there is a fence that last time i was there had a hole so you can get in. If its anything like before its the scariest place ever!
I looked it up on Google maps and have to say it looks really cool out there. Those orchards are huge! And the homes there look to be very big as well. Who takes care of the orchard if the home is abandoned?
well all I know about it is that an old lady used to live there and she died and it sat vacant for a long time...I guess bums lived in it and stuff.
And ya so the middle house you see is the "Orphange", and it is the weirdest looking house ever, with 2 spiral staircases, and then to the west thats the mansion and i never went to the building on the east side. I think there is a graveyard kinda close to the mansion to the south...but it could've been my imagination haha
What a great story. With everything you talk about it really makes me want to check this place out. You'll have to try and get some pics or video of the place sometime and post it up. I'm on the other side of town and don't make it that way very much...
And I don't know for sure if someone bought it or something and they take care of the orchard, but there are even cars parked on the google maps photo, and I"ve heard there has been some work done to the house so its not quite as scary...which is a shame...
its on Val Vista and Adobe, on the northwest corner...there is a abandoned house on the east side of the grove, the creepy orphange in the middle and some other building i never went to on the end...but i heard there is security now too tho...
this was a harness racing facility which ran a race meeting in the mid-1960's. The owner was Eddie Dunnigan. The track never took off financially and was just left to the birds. No one will buy it because its made of reinforced concrete and too expensive to knock down.
Great to know! I wish someone would do something with it though; it's a great looking building. Your right about the birds...thousands of them in there! Thanks again fro posting the info.
It depends on where your staring from on the I10 East...
It's just past Goodyear but before Buckeye I believe. If you drive the I10 towards that exit maybe 1 past or 1 before, you will see it on the South side of the road.
If you are driving in from Cali on the I10 East you'll see it on your right side, (South), just before the exit to Jackrabbit I believe. You can google search it if you like. You can't miss it when your driving. Good luck!
I remember something about a movie being shot there a while back, so that may explain why there are "blanks" up there on the roof.
I remember something about the movie, where they had some large explosions and they blew out all the windows and killed a lot of the birds that were living inside. I guess they had some fines to pay.
You know, I can't really remember that well, but it was a large casing.
There are a few people still living around the place in trailers, my guess is that someone thought it would be fun to shoot down at something...hopefully not towards the freeway lol
It wasn't a dog track. It was a horse racing track called Phoenix Trotting Park. It opened briefly in the 60s and costed its primary investor lots of money.
i went there last night with 3 other people. it was our "year anniversary" to go back but we couldn't find a decent way over the rod iron fence directly around the place. we were walking around the buliding and swear on my life, all 4 of us heard voices and we froze. then someone yelled something at us and we hauled outta there. sooo scary, don't think i'll be going back again anytime soon...
same thing happened to me. we were leaving and heard people talking and booked it. when we looked back we saw like 5 other flashlights goin around in there.
My friends and I went there at night 2 days ago and the cops caught us as we were leaving. they let us go, but they told us the security guard lives right where we were parked. had he caught us, we would have been prosecuted. also, there is esbestos (sp?) all over the place. It's very dangerous, so dont go. There's nothing creepy inside except bats, bugs, snaked and grafitti. =]
It's pretty much on lockdown, I doubt anyone "lives" there, but you might find a few people there to check it out which would scare me if I ran into someone at the top of that thing!
totally awesome video of the old abandoned dog track, i want to go in and c the place during the day after i paint over graffiti, anybody know how i can go and paint over the graffiti inside the building? and how old were u when u got kicked out by da po po?

Harness racing = horses, not dogs. Google it if you've never seen a trotter.

@pleiad7 Yeah your right, however, I changed the title, but can't change the video text since it's already a completed movie. Thanks for the comment.
