@oilhammer04 That Osprey in the end of the video is the property of Nasa, and was a test plane, as I remember. But U.S. Navy has some of them, and use them daily, yes. =)
@oilhammer04 Yeah, and they plan on making i think 20-30 every year from now on until they reach like 400-500 or so (360 for marines, the others for navy and usaf))
@HailTheBackwardsMan Many would argue that plane has already become obsolete as there's the Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion and Chinook to take care of most of it's tasks. Even speed and range has become somewhat of a none-issue for those and they can do more.
The idea of the Osprey becoming the ultimate 'dropship' has been flawed from the start. You'll need some kind of VTOL technology currently still relatively sci-fi for that.
@oilhammer04 yea they do, mostly air force special forces and the navy recon unites. It is actually very stable, its just kinda hard to fly, after some training though its easy.
That is the prototype of the VTOL test vehicle you idiot....the precursor to the Harrier Jump Jet.
Precursor to alien saucers.... only a moronic conspiracy theorist would think so....
