Kim Kaphwan was named after Kim Kap-Hwan, the founder and president of SNK's Korean distributor, Viccom, the company that was also responsible for Fight Fever and The Eye of Typhoon. He was also the founder of UnoTechnology (or Unotac), but with his son Kim Jae Hoon as the president of it, which almost created and released a single game, KOFWorld (a.k.a. The King of Fighters Online).
