How to prevent this... You will need: a bed. a torch. a house. Optional: a blade a pickaxe. Step 1. Build your house Step 2. Place down your bed. Did you know: You need to place your bed 1 block away from the wall, cause else mobs will glitch in. Step 3. Place down torches. Step 4. If your house is in a cave or mountainside, you don't nececarely need a bed, you can make a mine at night. Did you know: You may connect to cave systems. Step 5. If mobs glitch in, kill them. you need to put torches around the outside of your house to stop the mobs spawning.

I got this problem too, then i put all torch near my bed, left, down, up ,right. When i sleep, i wake up and SEE NOTHING and look at the window, ... OMG! It still night!

guys you dont need any special flooring. if your house is 3 block high ceiling, put torches every other block at the top, and do the same on the bottom floor and you'll be fine.

you need to remove the floor to wood or stone, cus they can get into your house through dirt, gravel and sand
