It is known that handling a spider can be stressful to it (you can do the leg work and research it yourself) They're meant as "display" pets if you will, they can be picked up and handled, but again it's not recommended to do it often if at all. The only time i really handle mine is when I'm cleaning up it's tank. If anyone thinking of becoming an arachnologist would probably know by now that they shouldn't be handled a lot.
