U could play it clean. I don't know about the chorus bit though. Try it and see if you like. Maybe add some chorus?

Although it is wise to listen to your praise team leaders but first as God... He gave you freedom play the way you want to glorify God you dont need to be a pro and do these solos... just play how u feel about the God and anyway you want there is no 1 way of playing fior the God but then there is appropriate timing like when to use the overdrive and any effects you might use
