I never said that Sayed Mahdi Modaressi, made any false allegations. I have seen him speak live, this Muharram, he is a very knowledgeable and respectable scholar. I said what I said, because all of our audience is not coming from the same frame of reference. They need to know that we don't insult their leaders, nor do we make up lies about them. It is not permissible for Shias to insult any sahaba of the Prophet, PERIOD! In the same vein though, criticism of a questionable act is not an insult.

Allah (swt) is JUST beyond our comprehension of the word justice! If you are a good man, and you believe in God; even if you are Jewish (a real jew, not zionist) I think someone that follows the sunnah and kitaab of any prophet properly, can make it into Jannah. The problem is, without divine guidance man goes astray very easily; so after the seal of the prophethood we chose to follow those who were guided and thoroughly purified by God himself in Qur'an 33:33. It just makes sense to trust them

If you would rather trust different scholars and different chains of narration that is fine. Be a good Muslim pray, fast, give charity, and be kind.

The rightful successorship should have gone to Ali(as), but it didn't. Fine, we won't dispute that. But the family of the prophet his, Ahlul Bayt and the Qur'an is what you need to hold on to in order to stay on or even to find Sirat al Mustaqeem! So, the Shia ithna asheri, Jaffari school; we adhere to the Qur'an, the Sunnah of the prophet as well as the sunnah of the pure household. Trust Qur'an & 14 Masoom before anyone else!

The people who consider the family of the prophet as the rightful guardians, custodians or vicegerents of the religion, followed the guidance of Imam Ali (as) even during the political rule of the other caliphs; these people called themselves Shia of Ali. Even when Imam Ali became caliph, Muawiyya began a propoganda campaign against him so the Shias of Ali were again distinguished from those who fell into the trap of the khawarij and Muawiyya's smear campaign. The prophet trusted only Ali (as).

@abubushraa Anyone that makes false allegations at Abu Bakr or any of the prominent sahaba, including the ones whom our Ahlul Sunnah brothers revere, is committing a sin. It is not permissible for a Shia to do so and anyone that insults the sahaba has not read the fatwa of the Shia scholars and has not understood Islam either. Our duty is to be "abd" of Allah (swt), to follow the holy Quran and try to understand its many layers of meaning and to continuously seek knowledge and attain ma'refa.

It is in your books, in mine and most importantly, in the Qur'an itself.

The Prophet (saws) appointed Imam Ali (as) as his successor, and he told the Ummah about the 12 Imams and his Ahlul Bayt, the purest of households. If you choose to follow the rulings of those who are less qualified, it doesn't mean you are less Muslim, we are all Muslim!

@abubushraa Just because I have an advantage and my Hadith are more authentic and the knowledge available to me is greater in quality and quantity than the knowledge available to you doesn't mean I am guaranteed Jannah. @abubushraa Just so you are clear on this; you raised an issue about associating partners with God. That is Shirk, it is not only haram but something that makes one a kafir and places the blasphemer outside the fold of Islam. The Infallibility of the 14 masumeen is not shirk; first of all, it is clear that the Ahlul Bayt are creations of God and therefore cannot be his partners or equals in any way. They have been blessed with the knowledge, ma'refa and infallibility; these are gifts from God.

@zishan1basiq if you argue in this way then you open the door for everyone to be blessed by Allah hence the right to say whatever they wish. the fact is no one is infallable. if you say the 12 imaams are infallable then bring you proofs first from the Quran then from the Authentic ahaadith. Allah has mention the names of 25 prominent prphets in the Quran along with some of his gifts upon them. this information about the prophets is absolute.

@abubushraa Brother, The Holy Prophet (saws), Imam Ali (as), Lady Fatima (as), Imam Hassan (as) and Imam Hussain (as) are living breathing examples of the Qur'an! The Sunnah of Ali (as) is almost the sunnah of Rasoolullah. If Prophet Muhammad was in the place of any of the 14 masoom, at any point in any of their lives, he would have made the exact same choices and decisions and said the exact same things! @abubushraa Abu Bakr and the other two Caliphs, tried to follow the sunnah as best they could. But Imam Ali (as), Lady Fatima (as), Imam Hassan and Hussain (as) and the remaining Imams were blessed with a similar kind of divine knowledge and inclination towards perfection as the final prophet of God, Ashraf al Anbiya(saws). If he wanted to create 14 infallible people, The Holy Prophet (saws), his blessed and pure daughter, Fatima Zahra (as) and the 12 Imams after the nabuwwah, starting with Ali (as) and ending with Mahdi (ajtf). The word Shia, means follower or one who follows. You can see it used in Arabic language, even the Qur'an; this is how it is used. When the successorship to the prophet was denied to Imam Ali (as) and the shura (election) took place while Imam Ali (as) prepared the burrial of the holy prophet. This election denied rightful successorship to be passed to Ali (as), as the prophet desired. No one, not even a Shia can deny that Abu Bakr was the first Caliph then Omar and Uthman before Ali (as).

@2007ceyda Shia's Follow Ahlalbey and Quran, and Since Ahlalbeyt are the true and only teachers of Quran one would not be guided using the Quran unless he or she is the follower of Ahlalbeyt, The Shia's only believe the Hadith that does not condradict the teachings of the Holly Quran.

@falloutintohell We do believe in hadith; however we scrutinize the chain of narration much more harshly, than any other school of thought. If one link in the chain of narration is even a questionable character, the entire hadith is deemed weak. the only thing that is 100% true is the word of God, Qur'an. what some guy reportedly heard from another guy, who heard from another guy, who may have heard from an imam or a prophet should be questioned before being accepted. You are right, brother.

when testing a hadith the first test is, does it make sense. The second test is does it contradict the Qur'an, if not then does it contradict any reliable hadith of the prophet or the 12 Imams, if not then we look at the chain of narration. If even one person in the chain of narrators is of questionable iman, character, truthfulness, etc. the entire hadith is deemed weak and not considered Sahih. Authentication is a stringent process that requires the expertise of Mujtahids and Ayatullahs.

Three types of people can ask for forgiveness on Qiyama... Prophets, Shcolars & Martyrs. The Ahlulbayt will ask for forgiveness for they are Scholars & Martyrs. EVERY school in Islam recognise that the most knowledgeable scholars of their time were the 12 Imam's. No arguing, it's in your own books.

Jesus is the prophet of God and yes he could make the dead alive, and yes he had no Father, Allah made him with out a father, with Virgin Marry whom we respect and love as well. But there is only one God and he has no son.
