I have one & it DOES go that fast its a good boat for its size..only negative i can say about it is you have to seal the lid canopy with tape or any sealant also put vasaline on the wire going to the rudder to keep water out.. :-)

Not much excuse for not using lipo batteries nowadays. That alone would stop me from buying it. Even my ultra micro airplanes use tiny 1 cells.

Other than that, looks like fun. Cute boat, be a blast in a small pond like you said.
