@123456781ad actually, that time, there was not the same concept of a "country" as today we have. it was devided by regions only. many states(countries), many kings. Lumbini and Kapilabastu didn't have the concept of "India" and "Nepal".
As a Buddhist I always wanted to fully understand the story of the Buddha and thanks to this I really feel like I understand it so much more and have a new appreciation for Buddhism. Thank you for uploading!
i need to take mental mind medication because the buddha did not want to have sexy fun with maras three sexy daughters . i also need mental mind medication because sexy ladies are inferior when it comes to constructing buildings and technology .
Ziggurathas, did you upload the version of this video with music and subtitles as well? I liked this one, but that one seemed to have more of an effect.
Isn't it crazy that one person devoted them self to understanding just to teach other people. I think Buddha is a great example of what impact one person can have on the whole world and what one person can achieve. A truly enlightened being.
@Samody408 No sin will be forgiven, for sin does not exist outside the minds of men. No such deity exists to forgive it, and such supernatural power has no basis in reality. They are figments of your imagination, and it is only your psychological need for simple answers that leads you to pray over and over despite its poor efficacy. You should move along, you will find few conversions to your superstition in the face of this enlightened, subtle and complex view of the world. Have a nice day.

Very nice program but there are some things to note..
Buddhism was never lost.... it has always been there since 300BC in countries like Sri Lanka. It is only in India that other religions like hinduism and muslim wiped out buddhism in india.
Also as a prince, siddhartha on one of his 4 outings he sites a monk, yes buddhism existed before he came to preach because before him there were 27 other buddhas who came during trouble times of earth, before prince siddhartha attained enlightment.
Sanatan dharma hinduism pre dates buddhism by 2000 years,Lord buddha teachings are well ingrained in teaching of hinduism.Hinduism is not a missionary abrahim religion. All indic religions are adored, respected and loved by native indians!
@TheMischievousbull depends on the type :) Shaolin Monastery has monks that use Kung Fu...they only ever use it as a means of defending someone and unless someone outright attacks them or some innocent person they're just like any other Buddhist Monk. They also lived in an area where attacks were more likely which I suppose probably had a lot to do with it.
To be fair the only moral budda really taught was this: We are the same as plants, as trees, as people, as the rain that falls. We consist of that which is around us, we are the same as everything. If we destroy something around us, we destroy ourselves. If we cheat another, we cheat ourself. He taught to do love 1 another as ourself. To respect freewill. All changes, the heart is unpredictable. Thats is why he did not hate people having sex, drinking, eating, ect. He loved all as himself!
Budda never taught to follow a moral codes; contrariwise, he taught that astheticism, mortification, celebracy, fasting, ect... was not the way to enlightment. Illumination comes from excepting all that is. He taught that you are one consciousness and that enlightment comes from expressing lovingkindness and compassion for all of creation despite it's ways.
@ruelf21 After the pain comes the healing.Time of pain makes you end up richer and stronger. Listening to ourself brings counsel. The ancient soul shows us the way. Therefore i like Buddhism. Its not an inflammatory religion, but a wisdom and philosophy where all is one and one is all. And that is the way we shall have to follow if we want to restore harmony... x
To become a monk and a recluse is a personal choice which is useless to the people outside the monatery. To meditate does not feed the poor, nor diminish the suffering of those who suffer.
Great! So Marvellous! It seems it's more related to a phylosophy and it concern for all humans. I had to do a quick research about the hindu Buddhist terms said in the documentary though :) And I'm afraid I'll need to go further! Really Intersting * Thanks for sharing it ! *

No man in this world can make himself holy and righteous before God in Heaven, only through God Mercy in Christ will their sin be forgiven.
