  • This laugh track is hysterical. It's like the audience is having the best time they've ever had in their lives.

  • Can anyone tell me what arcade machines are in the background there? The pix isn't sharp enough to make them out.

  • I wonder what Leonard Lightfoot is up to these days

  • Cute and funny episode. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Great old episode. Thanks for sharing.

  • There is no sound.did You Tube take off the sound?

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW :)

  • I am loving this <3

  • Almost a month ago, Regina King was on the morning news show with Jillian Barberie-Reynolds, Steven Edwards & Dorothy Lucey, and she said she was on an episode on "Silver Spoons". I'm trying to find it. Does anyone know where it is??

  • no sound.

  • Now that i think of it--I wonder if my 7th grade math teacher who is the husband of my 8th grade science--I wonder if he was inspired by Ricky's dad to act the way he does!! My old math teacher acts JUST like ricky's dad--full of fun, and so like a kid!!! It makes me admire him so much more!

  • Ricky's dad rocks--seriously!! And my 8th grade sceince teacher reminds me of Erin Grey / Kate!! Gorgeous!! I will always think of Erin Grey when I visit my 8th grade science teacher!

  • LOL!!!!!

    6:06

    Jason Bateman - "...refreshing!"

  • Erin Gray was HOT! I really had a crush on her back in the day.

  • man, forget these freaks! where's jason bateman!

  • Wasnt Erin Grey in a series called 'Malibu U'?

  • i didnt think amanda was all that when I first saw this when I was 12 just like alot of the other girls that were on this show for the first two years. In fact at the time i found her alittle repellent. I couldnt see what rick and derek saw in her back then. But I loved erin grey.

  • "STUDTIME!"....LOL!!

  • Boy the intro was so gay music...

  • Hey! That girl is from 'Can't buy me love' right?

  • @BeatlesFanNow4ever That's what I thought. If so, she was also in the movie, Annie.

  • "can't buy me love" girl is sally frumble, right?

  • Man, I love this train =)

  • what year was this? 82-83? i'd like to know...i was there but young. - thanks

  • 1983

  • LOL, I remember watching this when I was younger, its funny that i never notice how these kids act like they are in there mid 20's

  • i loved the train....

  • I never remembered these shows being so sexual. I guess it went over my head when I was little. I did have such a huge crush on Ricky. ;-)

  • @Triad3Force Me neither. I was probably the only girl alive that didn't have a crush on Ricky, but he is sooo funny in this show.

  • I loved this show, the 80's was full of family sitcoms. Their opening numbers all sound the same but who notice back then. Keep them coming

  • Erin Gray was HOT!!!

  • Odd ... I don't get any sound on this episode

  • The first season was the best

  • I agree, the first season was the best.

  • hey it's Cindy from Can't buy Me Love. Silver Spoons comes on On Demand I watch every new episode *dork*.

  • Dexter hadn't made his debut yet?

  • Gomez Addams had to be an inspiration for Edward Stratton III

  • ROFL

    LMBO

    HAHAHAHAHA

  • The best episode is when rick has a sleep over and they put frogs in that kids sleeping bag and he starts crying. i love those serious humiliation moments in 80s sitcoms. Damn it. Like when jack ruined terry's dress at the party in the first terry episode of threes company.

  • Jack, that wasn't funny look what u did to her dress.

  • I was really sad for Terry on that episode JackSmith07.

  • last time i watched this i was 87years old.

  • that would make you what, 109 years old?

  • He probably meant to say 8 years old.

  • 87 years old? damn, you're still alive after that?

  • Aw howcome you didn't post the full thing?

  • shows were better back then

  • this show brings back memories, thanks for posting

  • Jason was actually better at acting than Ricky was!(no offfense) In my opinion!

  • I agree Jason was better at acting. He was also more convincing.

  • yupp

  • nope

  • nope

  • nope

  • It is interesting to noticed that it was rumored that Ricky Schroder's own mother asked for Jason Bateman's character to be written off and the producers agreed on her wishes. Which ever you believe, we still don't know, but we know that Rick had a problem with Jason stealing Rick's spotlight everytime he made a better joke than him. Which is probably the reason for his exit and his beloved, but short sitcom "It's Your Move", a precursor to Married With Children antics.

  • I can't believe they wrote Jason off because he was getting more popular than the lead.

  • i know right?

since when does someone get fired for having charisma and talent?

  • @ImGeneParmesan getting more popular because every good girl loves a bad boy!

  • @ImGeneParmesan Oh, and he was also better looking!

  • @ImGeneParmesan I hear you on that. On Family Matters, Carl was supposed to be the lead character. But Urkel surpassed him immensely in popularity. At least they kept Jaleel White on the show despite that.

  • i had the biggest crush on Rick Schroder.

  • I for one was soooooooo in love with Erin Gray, I mean her smile in the opening credits, she's is so HOT!!!

  • This is Jason Bateman's second show. It's interesting to know that Jason Bateman is considered to be one of the youngest actor/director/producer on the sitcom, The Hogan Family. He started directing and producing at the ages of 17-18 with possibly some of the Hogan Family episodes. Scott Baio started directing and producing at age 26-27 with most of the Charles In Charge episodes, with some episodes of Out of This World, a couple of New Lassie episodes, among other episodes on certain shows.

  • Hey sarahstorm4, you do realize that Derek is Jason Bateman, right? If he was in Little House, just look for his name. =)

  • OMG right at 3:17 When Ricky hugs Kathy good by, he comps a feel of her as. LMAO Pricless, I wonder if he had a bet going or if his buddies made him king after that. I'd have grab it too, lol.

  • yes now that u say that the boy who played derek played james cooper on little house he was the one who they took in with his sister after his parents were killed in a wagon accident. At least i am 90 percent sure that is him.

  • Oh, yeah sarahstorm4, Jason Bateman did play James Cooper on Little House, he also starred on Arrested Development, The Hogan Family, George & Leo, etc.

  • I love Silver Spoons.

  • This sounds like Gary Portnoy singing the theme song. Is it? I always liked him when he sang the Punky theme, and Cheers!

  • love this show. so funny and clever. of course we get more of the jokes now than we did originally....

  • i would probably lick Erin Grey's butt

  • Digging for nuggets in the gold-digger's anus.

  • Haha wow this brings back sooooo many memories! I miss being a kid!

  • Is it just me, or did Schroeder cop a feel of her posterior when he hugged her?

  • yeah he did..thatlucky lil fk'er. I loved Kate.

  • No doubt. Easily one of the hottest women on TV during that era.

  • And the adults act like kids. Inspiration to Michael Jackson's adult character trapped in a child's mind...

  • damn I feel young again

  • The kids all act like adults trapped in little bodies.

  • Why all the white shows look so care free all us niggas had was Cosby show

  • And Fat Albert.

  • Derek was badass!

  • Leavitt and Moye? OMG, they made "Married with Children". After seeing "Silver Spoons" again, I'm not surprised...

  • The guy who played Derek... wasn't he the same guy who played one of the Ingalls' kids in "Little House on The Prairie"? Not Albert, the younger boy that the Ingalls' took in.

  • The kid who played Derek was on Little House on the Prarie..that's Jason Bateman.

  • Use to be one of my fav shows

  • OMG!! sally frumble is "Cindy Mancini" from classic 80's flick "Can't Buy Me Love" with Patrick Dempsey!

How cool would it be if she did a cameo on "Grey's Anatomy" she could be an old girlfriend of Dr. McDreamy. lol

  • Amanda Peterson.

  • I don't remember his young days, but I remember this show when he was older.

  • I am sooooooo looking forward to this show coming out next month!! {screams, lol} The 19th! Great to see something else of Ms. Gray's. Thanks for uploading!

  • I am thinking you are talking about the DVD coming out on June 19th not the show that is going to be on the air. I wish they put this show back on the air some of the sketch in the show are funny.

  • Yes, the DVD. Yes, I also wish that. I would love to see Ion air it! :)

  • Ricky's nerdy friend was the funniest character on the show.

  • Silver Spoons is an awesome show!

  • So awesome! Ricky Schroder AND Jason Bateman! Thank you!!!!

  • Yes I knew that was Jason Bateman. He was as funny then as he is now.

  • Thank you soooo much UncleScrooge for all of the Silver Spoons stuff! Makes me feel like a kid again. I miss those days...

  • Thanks for posting this, it a flashback to my youth. I always watched this on NBC primetime!
