  • Ahh, too beautiful. Thank you for all the magical images of this most beautiful man.

  • We bought a zoo anyone?

  • In the middle of one of the greatest songs ever, Cat gently reminds us that 'love is better than a song!'. My song is a finger pointing, but it's not the way, the moon, or even love...it's a commercial vehicle. Or a loving commercial vehicle? A catalyst! What humility and better still, perspective this handsome gentleman has. His quiet, his roar, his play, his liberation: all soothe me. Plus he has gorgeous style

Goddess Love Bless and Keep you always, dear Cat! Love Blonde Dylan, NYC

  • i saw this movie, when it came out, at 18 years old after moving to key west . it is by far the most inspiration movie on so many levels, including the music. itwas and remains to this day , 40 years later, not only my favorite film, but the most impactful.

  • I must have seen Harold and Maude over 25 times as a young adult. I think Cat Stevens, Ruth Gordon and Bud Cort were like old friends everytime I saw that movie. No one's music could be more perfect for that movie than Cat Stevens!

  • @shygirlnow2011 i feel the same way.

  • i am from mr magoriums wonder imporium..

  • I Love this, so much truth to Yusuf Islam's music Much Praise words to live by. Thankyou for this post I went to see Harold and Maude by accident when I was 13 years old I don't think any movie made me think and feel more openly then Harold and Maude what a great movie so much honesty and reality. I still remember the feeling walking out of the theatre My friends and I. I am 46 years old still magical.

  • I love this soundtrack, too bad Cat became a Muslim fundamentalist nutball who doesnt object to murdering nonbelievers like Salman Rushdie.

  • Songs like this truly move me to tears.

  • What's that almost naked chick doin' on the right side of the screen ?

  • @dylanparker72 :) good point! x

  • @dylanparker72 lol!!!! i wouldn't dare! he speaks nothing but the truth! (except vegetarianism because that is just not natural or healthy) what is it again...shyness can stop you from doing all the things in life you'd like too? Never a truer line in a song ;)

  • "Don't wear fear, or nobody will no you're there."

    Amazing.

  • Once Upon a Time brought me there :)

  • @MrJacob909 Same. Good show Amazing song.

  • @MrJacob909 ditto! if it wasn't for that series, i probably wouldn't have know about Cat Stevens --amazing music.

  • I don't think he's ever composed a mediocre song in his life. His melodies and the lyrics too are always so evocative. And to me, a middle-aged man now, Cat brings back lovely memories of places, people, events, good or bad no matter but definitely sweet to remember. For me he's one of the greatest musicians ever

  • music amazingness

  • i wouldn't care if shows like x factor etc existed, if they could generate songs like this

  • y is there wut appears to be porn on the suggestions of this video?

  • Don't wear fear or nobody will know you're there.

  • @78lecamino What a ridiculously deep comment! Cheers mate.

I love Yusuf, Cat, I have a lot of respect for his Faith, his charitable work, his family.. and mostly his Kind Heartedness.

  • Cat Stevens music is slowly become more important to me than The Beatles, I'm a huge beatles fan, cat just gets me, though I'm in my twenties, his music has made me a better person and has tought me to love everyone, even though i do not agree with his religon it's ok cause thats his path and I love the man and would in second go see him in concert, and if i ever met him I would scream and giggle like little school girl, I'm sixfoot one two hunderd and twenty pound boxer lol

  • @78lecamino Omg, your so cool! :D

  • @78lecamino I love Harold and Maude..I loved the music on it. He really defined my early twenties with his music. I agree with u in my mind he is a musician first. I wish I could see him in concert with these old songs! Let me go with u if he ever does do a concert! BTW, in the movie Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon really were in love in real life. Its in her book!

  • wowowow

  • Man, Harold and Maude . .. Haven't seen that movie since I was 14. I hella want to watch it again, great flick.

I don't care what ANYBODY says about Cat's religion or what have you, talk about a great musician. I suppose him and this movie kinda goes hand in hand

  • R.I.P Thomas Jenkins - I know and love this song cos of you n Tog , so Thank you very much and Goodnight xxx

  • Harold and Maude gran bel film!

    meglio delle commedie di oggi!

  • nahh thumbs for Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium :D

  • Thumbs up if your here because of Martina child

  • It's strange how we link songs to a dead loved one. It hurts, but feels good at the same time. It lets me know that I'm still here; that I'm still alive.

  • @ryguy2 helps you remember them too

  • @mrmrjamestalaga Absolutely. Except, most of the music I tie to them, I had never even heard at the time of their death, or before it. Which is why I say it's sort of strange, because you're not recalling that period of time for the song, yet somehow you feel like the song perfectly ties to them; even though the lyrics may not fit them perfectly, the song does. I hope that makes sense, I didn't really know how to word it.

  • @ryguy2

    That's deep.

  • @ryguy2 thats cool

  • if u like this listen to prohets by ac newman

  • This song, helped me out of a serious depressive rut. Actually, all of his songs together helped me feel better about life, love, relationships, everything in general. As well as the H&M movie. If I were to ever meet him, I don't think I would be able to find the perfect words to thank him for his music and what he has done for my mentality and emotions. He's just such a great man. (...and a hottie, too)

  • "Song from soundtrack of the film Harold and Maude." Also from Martian child

  • stop to discuss about his spiritual choice...He is a big artist and he can transmit a lot.

  • thumbs um if you came here because of mr magourium wounder emporium

  • @TaiwanIsntACountry He's was born and raised in England in case you didn't know. And so what, ignorant dipshit

  • @TaiwanIsntACountry Oh shut it.

  • @TaiwanIsntACountry Dude, he was born in london, and come on, even if he's a muslim, its alright, all religion is crazy. Accept everyone. Love everyone. Don't be shy, just let your feelings roll on by.

  • Hm while everyone else thinks of Harold and Maude, I discovered this song because of the movie Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium lol

    I'm so hipster.... lol

  • im a 12 years old boy and i admire cat stevens

  • AWESOME MOVIE!!

  • I should listen to this song more often. <3

  • normal...

  • Cat Stevens = or > God

  • @MadamDirtBag don't be so happy...

  • @MarceloLunard1 impossible.

  • @MadamDirtBag well, i believe that our moments define the themes of our lifes... but, this song is good, I was disagreeing some coments only! ex.: Cat Stevens = or > God :P it's a exaggeration!!!

  • @MarceloLunard1 ..of course it was an exaggeration. it was a joke o_o

  • @MadamDirtBag don't use the of god in vain :X hug man! bye

  • @MarceloLunard1 ....use the WHAT of god?

  • @MadamDirtBag name! :D sorry

  • @MarceloLunard1 there we go.

  • @MadamDirtBag ^^ a discussion should not change the course of world man :D bye!

  • Harold reminds me of myself so much. Many suicide attempts and no one really ever cares. Unless you succeed. Perhaps someday I will...

  • @scotttyyy442 I personally care about the emotional lows and sufferings of my fellow humans, dead or alive. Suicide creates a lot more issues than it solves. Find someone to talk to if you're feeling that low. If you don't think you can trust a friend, there are plenty of hotlines you can call that are all volunteers -- people who do care.

  • @scotttyyy442 Never kill yourself, you will be leaving people behind who love you, even if you don't know it yet.

  • @scotttyyy442 DO IT DO IT DO IT, make it epic and make headlines, walk into a kindergarten class and do some magic tricks then blow your brains out, International an hero LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • one of the greatest films ever made n wit a soundtrack by Cat Stevens at his peak...sublime!

  • My all time favorite movie...and the soundtrack, brilliant =]

  • i love this song

  • Movie: Very moving when not somewhat static and boring. Cats soundtrack (and I am not a big fan) makes the movie much better and they were very lucky to get him.

  • this was posted on my b-day : )

  • @lpslover12200 happy birthday (bit belated) then xD

  • This is one of the few movies/soundtracks that I never tire of.Peace to everyone!

  • @echobarty

    Amen to that!

  • As a Christian our Holy week upon us, I wish every one a Merry Christmas, and someday, hopefully, the “Peace Train”

  • Harold and Maude is a classic!

  • this was the song I used for my Mums funeral, we both loved Harold and Maude and this song was Mums message for life. I've learn't to play this on my guitar and for a long time it would make me sad........now it makes me happy.Love you Mum

  • @tonyskanking I've had a similar experience Tony, a friend of mine died and they played a song at his funeral which was difficult for me to listen to for a long time, now I love it, it always makes me think of him

The song was Man of the World - Peter Green

Still brings a tear sometimes though. RIP Charles!

  • These songs changed my life.... i watch this movie in my movie class and i thought it was the first movie that achualy made me change my way of thinking.

  • I am a 17 yr old girl and I LOVE this song!! This is real music, not Bieber haha. I watched Harold and Maude for my tv/film lit class and I love EVERY song on the movie especially this song. Amazing.

  • @Covergirlstarify Interesting, I'm a 17 year old guy who also enjoys this song. Only difference is that I'm watching it in AP English Lit, not TV/Film Lit.

  • @killu19 Wow that's awesome!! I think I am the only one in his classes that really enjoyed this movie, I thought it was awesome and the end made me feel powerful haha

  • @Covergirlstarify We had better just started watching it yesterday, but the intro of the movie cut everyone off guard. It was hilarious.

  • @killu19 OH I KNOW!!! I saw him hang hiself and everyone was CONFUZZLED haha, and then after dinner where that room was all bloody haha, but after that it was amazing <3

  • @Covergirlstarify When he shot himself everyone freaked out, and were thinking he couldn't die. It looked like a real gunshot (movie wise).

  • @killu19 Oh I know!! I thought it was funny though haha but it's weird how his mother didn't seen effected by his suicidal attempts haha

  • @Covergirlstarify

If I ever become a teacher I'll show Harold and Maude immediatly. My favourite movie everrrrrrrrrr :)

  • @twilightedwardbella9 Good!! It's a great movie! 2 bad everyone else in my class thought it was too weird and it stunk but I enjoyed it quite a bit! and all the music on it is just fabulous :)

  • @twilightedwardbella9

watched that film today for the first time; I can no longer listen to Cat Stevens without bursting into tears.

  • @TheBlipOnYourRadar Is it possible to be in love with a movie? Yes! Cat stevens music was perfect as the soundtrack :))

  • @twilightedwardbella9

I am a quite old teacher (54). I showed my students the film a couple of months ago. They laughed a lot. And I was almost moved to tears....

  • @carlabattista that is so sad. I remember watching this in my humanities class in high school and having it make such a huge impression on me. I hope when my kids are old enough to watch this they will glean the deep lessons from it as I did. Makes me sad to hear kids these days are so shallow. ;(

  • Don't become a teacher. It's hard to teach things you love to a new generation. Draining. It makes you love them less. Harold and Maude wouldn't go over in any class I've taught. (though I loved it in high school). It's too personal to be viewed publicly.

  • @twilightedwardbella9 Funny you say that! In my freshman year of college, I took Psych 202 and my Psyc teacher played this, its how I first saw it! And I've loved it ever since!!! :D:D:D

    God Bless ~Amy

  • @twilightedwardbella9 Well, see, you say that, but then I see your username and think...oh no.

  • @twilightedwardbella9 okay so i seriously like just said this before i read your comment! lol that's so freaky! haha

  • The sound of the piano remember wind.

  • THis is much better than that Yusuf Islam stuff

  • @PeteRieck yea u sound like a hater... lol you said that like its a diff person..smh

  • Amazing song!

  • great musician

  • does anyone else see the roy blunt advertisement?... or are they targeting me because i live in missouri?

  • peace and love!!! fuck the corporations... in europe there is a big trend of employee owned buisnesses... its like having a union except there is no CEO and no union... all the workers get there way all the time for the bettering of the organization... im gonna start my own democratically run graphic design studio here in america (if i decide to stay in america lol) (france pays for college, all you need is your brain)

  • I see so much bullshit talk about racism and who's right. So much beauty in his music and other nations that sing out. Love and peace is what everyone should be about

  • cat stevens is simply a Greek fighter carries the wisdom of the Islam raised to be an English song only to the people

  • looks like sayid

  • I just wanted to sincerely apologize for anything I have written up until now on this site. In my foolish attempt to joke around with someone I was insensitive to many good people.

  • Whooo! Let the Taliban die!

  • fantastic!

  • dmbbt123 : The Good news will out. Peace Train, If you want to sing out, Moonshadow - come on people! This man is a man of peace and love. Thank you Cat Stevens for giving us others so much good sound and love and peace. You are in our hearts who loved you then, as we love you now. "What I want is Peace in Good Faith. We are all children of the one God. " - Geronimo

  • This song should have won the academy award that year, not that horrible "Shaft Theme"!

  • Cat Stevens rocks..........love this song !!

  • Thanks to eddie for singin: this song and helping me find CAT!!!!!

  • This song is all about Islam and religion. Don't be fooled as Cat was planning his move to Islam (but not the attack) years ahead of us. Shy means Muslim. "there" means nirvana when all Americans and Israelis die.

  • @11xzxzxz you're really stupid!

  • @11xzxzxz you really is stupid

  • @lornamoone Great only two tries this time!

  • @11xzxzxz Because all Muslims are radicals, am I right? Get a HS degree please.

  • @11xzxzxz the US army is full of stupid meat shields... they are only good for taking a bullet, i say let them die... same with the taliban... lets just throw them in a pit with swords and axes so we can go on living our civilized, intelligent lives away from all this retarded hate and violence... the troops can suck my cock

  • @wildboy789789 Well I don't agree with you and you have really oversimplified things. Good luck to you .. I really am not looking to debate you.

  • @11xzxzxz Wait, so you're saying that Yusuf Islam wrote this song to mean "don't be muslim"? C'mon, I'm not even going to call you out for your bigotry. But really? Does that make any sense?

Also nirvana is not a concept of Islam. That's Buddhism. You have the internet at your fingertips, why not use it?

  • @Extertainment Of course it makes no sense; I was being facetious. R u saying "wait" because you're intellectually challenged so I should go slow with u? I assume you are referring to my nonsensical non sequitur blog on "shy" means Muslim, etc. Cat's conversion didn't take place until 7 years after he wrote this song and there is no evidence that he was even interested in Islam when he wrote this song circa '71. You have the "internet at your fingertips", buddy, just chew on your fingers.

  • @11xzxzxz I would love to believe that every stupid and nonsensical youtube comment was non sequitur, but sadly 99% are serious or "trolling." Reading your original comment as non sequitur, I withdraw my objections.

However, I did realize that this song was released well before his conversion. I simply used Yusuf Islam rather than Cat Stevens to illustrate my point. Also, even though Cat had not converted or shown any signs of conversion, he was certainly not anti-Islamic at the time.

  • @Extertainment OK thanks for seeing my truthfulness (even if you aren't perfectly sure) that I was me being facetious. Perhaps one would have to follow me around the web to see my mock serious/joking is in action a lot or just look at my home site and read my stuff.

I could have guessed you might write back and indicate that Cat's conversion was a long time coming. I think you stopped short of this though - though you tried to imply it and have your cake and eat it too.

  • @Extertainment I could not find any information even indicating that Cat was "not anti-Islamic". He probably wasn't .. I was just wondering where you found that Cat was not anti-Islamic. Reading books is not enough evidence, but I will let you slide if that is your info. I am not a fan of Cat except for maybe 10 songs so maybe you know more than me. On this song, the melody is weak to me and piano is weaker ..I would have advised more "heavy notes" and more pounding.. ha.

  • @Extertainment CONT ad infinitum. I apologize for my sarcasm but I felt you started the fight in a strong sense. You and no one else could be expected to know what set me off (more than usually very mature person I am . haha): it was your remark "You have the internet at your fingerprints buddy, use it". We first the internet is not reliable, I don't care if you see something 4 times. Second I have no fingers (haha). Seriously, you were smug and assumed, in a small sense,

  • @Extertainment Thought there is no reason for me to get even a little mad, I did because I do use the internet way-too-much-man and it often sucks. And I had used it before I wrote my initial remarks. And your remark was smart-alecky (not that mine aren't as I can see myself as others do and Please don't make me look again - ha). So I let you slide there because this emperor is usually half-dressed himself. Take care and beware of non sequiturs. Good luck and I will be stalking you. Joke!

  • @Extertainment Yeah I know Buddhist concepts but you are so serious or seriously lacking in humor and the "pain (you cause) is enough to make a shy, bald Buddhist reflect and plan a mass-murder" . Now before you tell me again about Buddhism just learn a lesson from before - this time my words in quote are lyrics from a Smith's song.

  • there is to caind of religion.....oppium end coca...coca..is better...

  • Nice song.

  • This song where I love it and know the meaning but I am too scared to live by it. I am so PAINFULLY shy and my shyness has intensified over the course of the past year and I don't want to be shy but right now it is too hard for me. Anyway, I love this song.

  • Jesse Dylan may be a real person but it is not Bob Dylan's son.

  • @TheGarnerjustin73 i am truly dissapointed that i hadnt figured that out for myself, my apologies thanks for the correction.

  • Cat prounced a death sentence upon those insulting his false prophet Mohammed

  • Cat Stevens was and is (no matter what name he chooses to go by) a master singer-songwriter-man of wisdom- cool cat. Thanks for all the cool cuts from his (and my) past. What was Good, is Good. Eh? Peace Brothers and Sisters. Be Excellent to one another.

  • @arhatyellow Thank you, people rather spread bad news than listen to good.Watch the news ,look at the front pages..........:)

  • This man is a peace lover. Freedom of religion......his music touches all deeply.

  • lovely montage - he's so gorgeous! :-D

  • i love dark humor

  • "Don't wear fear or nobody will know you're there

Just lift your head, and let your feelings out instead "

    -Mister Magorium's Wonder Emporium

  • @AshT4477 That's where I first heard this lol.

  • so i look at the first comment and it says stuff about obama? wtf dude? shut up and listen

  • I dont know why people are talking religion or poltics I just wanted to say its a cool song and Pearl Jam did a great cover once on one of their live albums.

  • Cat Stevens music in Harold and maude was a genius!! The best music..EVER!!!

  • I don't care if Obama is Muslim. He is not an american!
