@temp229009 Yep, you are alone.Here's the deal, as I see it....Doolittle was just better mixed - it didn't sound like it was recorded in a basement. All of the albums really have high and low points. Doolittle got them on the board. Bossa was good...but "Dig for Fire" was the stand-out. I think Trompe was a let down, although I love the Brine to Memphis exchange. Fact is, the Pixies weren't very good. Pwah? Say the die-hards? Frank Black's first self-titled album blew every Pixies album away.

The Breeders and Amps sucked. She can't write music. Black Francis (Frank Black) is a master at song-writing and mixing. Never like Santiago - he makes more noise than anything. So you are left with the drummer - Lovering? Great drummer! Just my opinion.
