I've always wondered why he left the series in the first place. I don't think it had anything to do with storyline because the producers kept trying to get him to come back. There's definitely a story there.

@Lania99999 Both he and Kristin Kruek left around the same time, because of expanding their career roles. Kristin was coming out in a new movie: Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li.

i love that tom welling says that there is no superman without lex. unfortunately, the series finale did not do the clex relationship that the writers spent seven years cultivating any justice. what's the use of giving lex and clark such a rich history if it's going to devolve into just another batman and joker relationship. how much more fascinating if clark and lex remained brothers even as lex is trying to destroy clark's alter-ego. now, there's drama and excitement without the hum-drum.
