Historical records tell us that Moonshiners, including Lewis Redmond, often evaded arrest and killed law officers. History also records that these criminals often got light sentences & presidential pardons. They were criminals, murderers, and their 'product' brought out the worst in the consumers. But Ameri-History labels them 'Folk heros'. I'm glad these stories are being told so the world can see how 'cordial' we R with outlaws........when they look like our own kin....when they're white.

My GrandMother used to tell me stories about her StepFather, my GreatGrandFather when he made alcohol and murdered. She has many a newspaper clippings about

such things. This would have been at the turn of the century and up to the 1920-30.

He was Scottish and maybe not that hard.Some say not.But she never liked him, and trailed his life in newspaper clippings and stories.
