  • Where did you get that poster in the background?? I would like to get one

  • @noaa555 Its been so long I don't remember where I got this photo. I've seen a few on ebay some time back, but not lately.

  • Jimmy Elledge is a great singer, artist on piano, and performer. He is a close personal friend of my mom.... so sad... he had a stroke a few years ago and can no longer perform... please continue to remember and celebrate his music and keep him in your prayers....

  • So Willie Nelson didn't do the first recording?

  • @jllorigins No he wrote the song, and sang it later

  • I've been singing this with my band for the past two months... LOVE IT!

  • Strange that Jimmy Elledge never had another hit. There's still time. He's still alive.

  • This is the best singer for this song. Where is he now?

  • This is truly an awesome song especially sung by this person. Yeah man cool

  • this is the best version of this song!!!

  • @rickwalkerjr / TRY BILLY JOE ROYAL TAKE

  • I do love this song and it's been a lifelong dream to own a Seeburg that played 200 records (or a Wurlitzer 1050 that plays both 78s and 45s)

  • its so awesome to listen to this song on such a beautiful machine, thanks!!!

  • LOL

  • Great song thanx for posting!!

  • Those early Seeburgs using the valve amps had such a nice sound for their time. Nothing else came close and I've serviced everything from Wurlitzer's to Rock Ola's.

  • wow, does this bring back memories. wish I could have seen him performing it. anyway, thanx for the post

  • Jimmy was so great. I have some of his records. I really like A Golden Tear. I think

Jimmy still performs after some health problems.

  • Great song. Saw him sing many times in Monroe.

  • Willie sure has a way about words...hits the spot!

  • jimmy elledge is from pineville, louisiana. willie nelson wrote it. others made versions BUT JIMMY WAS THE ORIGINAL ONE AND THE BEST ONE THAT RECORDED IT...........BELIE DAT!

  • This is the ONLY true version.

  • Nifty Keen.........Thank You.

  • You do not have to put money in the jukebox, but it is not on free play. I devised a way to activate the selection mechanism from the keyboard so it is easy to play.

  • Do you still have to put money in the jukebox or did you rig it up to where you don't have to?

  • This guy was great as well.great song !!

  • fantasic. i used to have this on 7" vinyl. it was a demo. but it vanished. on the other side was a boogie woogie track. i'd love to hear thet again. thanks for putting this on youtube
