Jimmy Elledge is a great singer, artist on piano, and performer. He is a close personal friend of my mom.... so sad... he had a stroke a few years ago and can no longer perform... please continue to remember and celebrate his music and keep him in your prayers....
Those early Seeburgs using the valve amps had such a nice sound for their time. Nothing else came close and I've serviced everything from Wurlitzer's to Rock Ola's.
jimmy elledge is from pineville, louisiana. willie nelson wrote it. others made versions BUT JIMMY WAS THE ORIGINAL ONE AND THE BEST ONE THAT RECORDED IT...........BELIE DAT!
You do not have to put money in the jukebox, but it is not on free play. I devised a way to activate the selection mechanism from the keyboard so it is easy to play.
fantasic. i used to have this on 7" vinyl. it was a demo. but it vanished. on the other side was a boogie woogie track. i'd love to hear thet again. thanks for putting this on youtube

Strange that Jimmy Elledge never had another hit. There's still time. He's still alive.

I do love this song and it's been a lifelong dream to own a Seeburg that played 200 records (or a Wurlitzer 1050 that plays both 78s and 45s)

Jimmy was so great. I have some of his records. I really like A Golden Tear. I think
Jimmy still performs after some health problems.

Do you still have to put money in the jukebox or did you rig it up to where you don't have to?
