@snowboarder4life87 you MUST reflash... since you have to drive about 20-80 miles of stop and go to get the computer "ready" for emissions testing...dont waste your time and money, just reflash APR is the MOST power with the "smoothest" idle and drive... IMHO

APR 100%. I've heard both in person, i prefer the tone and quality of APR. I've used APR for everything on my A4, and even have the APR ECU/TCU software on my RS6.

Ive been lookin at APR software for a while but how do i go about installation after buying it? Do i have to manually take my ECU out?

All they will do at the shop is hook your car up to a power source in case your battery goes retarded while flashing, then they plug their laptops to your car VAG COM port select the correct software for your model then flash. Then it's all done 60 horsepower gain in 5 minutes (if even). German Engineering at it's best.

@redsox023 Most of the time your local Audi dealer will install the software for you. It is all programing, no manual ECU removal, unless you send it in to APR.

true, but be very careful having your audi dealer do the install. if you have a warranty or CPO warranty, and the dealer knows about the chip - say bye bye to your warranty. i would get it installed by a aftermarket shop and keep the dealer out of it

@poppinfresh417 I'm not sure what you have delt with, but both my Audis are chipped by the dealer. One is a Stage 1, the other Stage two. The dealer even installed the test pipe. Audi has a partnership with APR products to install them without any warranty void. Never had a problem here.

you're luckier than i am then. I've had both my B7 A4 and C5 RS6 APR chipped, and both have had the warranties voided by the dealer (Champion Audi in Coral Springs, FL). I suppose some dealers have different partnerships than others..

Great sounding car! what's up with the smoke? I get the same thing at WOT... what could it be? I'm chipped with 2.5 exhaust all the way... any ideas?

ever since i took out the cat converters and put in the APR test pipe - the smoke would kick out when i hit high revs. Dunno what the smoke is.. but have since traded in the car for an RS6. Nothing like the 4.2 liter BiTurbo beast.
