Christian fanatics are the devil ... carries mom was filled with hatred ..it sad that christians think they free from sin..and yet they're the cause of most wrong doings
It's unfortunate that Carrie had to die after all the bullshit she put up with! The bullies and Carrie's mom were more creepy to me in this movie, actually. Her mom was nuts and those girls were obsessed with making Carrie's life a living Hell. I wish someone would've told their asses how sad and disgusting it is to be obsessed with being this cruel to someone. I'm glad the main chick gets haunted by her at the end.
This movie is one of those great horror films and it makes me think who should I feel bad for the students that died at the prom? or Carrie? Poor Carrie she never deserved this :(
@Hugopotter2 I know :( When I was younger and saw only clips of the movie I just found the storyline (and therefore Carrie) creepy. Like I was too bothered to really feel sadness. I mean don't get me wrong, It wasn't until seeing it recently when I was really touched, and found her demise to be completely terrible. These songs really bring your mind back to the movie and the horror of it. I love how this movie was able to combine horror with sorrow, rather than just being some massacre movie.
@Hugopotter2 what i like about this movie like if we show the world this film whats its like to being bully and see carrie kill living shit out of everyone in the school. i mean i feel bad for her she been bully and her mom is fucking psycho, i think she was the scariest out of all in this film,
@NYbookworm17 Yes! The music really just finalized a great movie. You know a movie really nailed it's tracks when you can be so moved by just listening to it. Both the scary and sad songs = brilliance.
@ByakuganTaiChi I know right! The fire scene at the school and this scene are just simply memorable because they both show how religious intolerance affects people!!
At first the music for this track sounds kinda scary but right at 1:53 and so on I feel tears welling up in my eyes. Poor Carrie was a shy, but sweet and beautiful girl who just wanted to fit in and feel loved. She got both of those things but ended up dying the same night. She did not deserve that AT ALL. Carrie could've had a way better ending. The saddest parts in this movie were when Carrie died and Sue's dream, especially with the music.
@ThinkPink866 I agree, I agree and I definitely most agree. Also, what really bothers me is that Sue Snell was having a tender moment visiting Carrie-san's grave...until Sue's mother interruptted. I know that the mother was trying to comfort her daughter, but to ruin a sad moment? Oh man, that really made me hate the ending.
@ByakuganTaiChi Well, it wasn't really Sue's mom that ruined the moment, it was when Carrie's hand came out of the ground. That part made me jump and I think it was one of the best moments in a horror movie, but they made it seem like Carrie went to hell and she was a good person. The whole prom thing was sort of an accident because she really didn't know what she was doing. Overall, it's a beautiful movie, along with the music. The ending I thought was shocking but also very sad.
@ByakuganTaiChi Good point, but then again, if it wasn't for Sue's mom grabbing Sue's arm, wouldn't Sue not have imagined Carrie's hand grabbing her (Sue) from the grave? Like when your dream and reality overlap.
I can't get over how tragic the movie was, especially the ending. Carrie had to go through so much, only to die at the end. It was heartbreaking to see her seek for her mother's comfort and end up being killing her in self-defense. This is a great movie, nonetheless.
I wish telekinisis (forgive my spelling) was real and I had it. Not to kill people of course, but definetly to get back at some annoying people I have to work with!
@ThinkPink866 I did it a little bit but my head kept hurting. You have to visualize the object moving and put your energy out to the object. It's very difficult.
Scary parts of the movie. 1. Carrie covered in blood with the red lights on her. 2. The music. 3. "THEY'RE ALL GONNA LAUGH AT YOU!" God, hearing that line sends chills down my spine.
I begged my dad to rent this movie for me back in 2004 when I was 10. Scared the shit outta me! LOL! I had nightmaares! But then I LOVED the movie! :D
Believe or not, they're people who think this movie is stupid. However, they like films like final destination or saw. Shows what they know about film.
@DarkNagisa I have to agree too - I read the book awhile back and it didn't have the same impact on me needless to say if Tabitha (I think that's her name), Stephen King's wife, hadn't pulled the manuscript out of his trash bucket and encouraged him to finish it, we wouldn't have either :)
This song is very emotional, at least for me anyway. My favourite part is when you get the woodwind at the end. If you've watched the movie, you just get a vivid picture in your mind of Carrie's mother slowly dieing and that poor girl in the corner, forced to listen to her mother die right next to her.
While I was reading the book and watching the movie I felt so sad for Carrie... She never deserved any of the things that happened to her. I can't stress how much sympathy I have for her. And there was only two people who felt sorry for her Mrs. Dessjarden and Sue. All those people who laughed had it in for them ESPICALLY CHRIS AND BILLY!
@weirdarmboy I think so many people lived vicariously through Carrie in the prom scene. As terrofying as it was it so so cathartic to see the jerky kids get theirs.
Carrie has the creepiest music in horror movie history. It creeped the shit out of me when I was a kid and even now the music still creeps me out alittle. Oh, and don't forget those glowing jesus eyes.
Great soundtrack and I like the original poster of the movie. I can't believe Hollywood keeps changing them on all the classic's on the new DVD and Blue-Ray covers, it's so dumb. Give me the original cover anytime.
Yeah, I tried looking it up on YouTube and it's not here. It's definitely on the actual soundtrack CD if you can track it down. I had it a long time ago...packed away somewhere now!

There is a great book about gender and horror films that goes to town on Carrie with symbolism, etc. From seeing the shower scene as pre and post garden of eden, to women's interanlised misogyny (the author's words) and how they attack other women (again - shower scene) because of it. I highly doubt Stephen King had that in mind when he wrote the book; but, it's still an interesting take on the film.
Awesome soundtrack, too!

I always loved this score, because it will forever remind me of her mother. And given the immense drammatic ominous tone of this song, It almost goes to show that her mother was the true monster all along. When you think about it, substitute carrie's telekinesis for a gun. Puts the story in very great perspective. Her rage and hurt almost all stems from that religious nut of a mom.
