  • Britblues rules, that one's for sure! I saw the new Doctor just yesterday, Thursday, 9th of December 2010, and they're cool as well! Bobby Gillespie is a master of ceremonies, Kane is a wizzard!

  • Absolute class! I'm into a lot of Punk Bands who always namechecked Dr Feelgood. So I had to check them out and they didn't disappoint.I can remember the song from school I loved it then and I still love it now.

  • Reminds me I've got to go shopping...

  • CANVEY ISLAND LEGENDS!!!!!

  • This is great! :)

  • its good but i still miss wilko...hed of done it better

  • @Bossness123 You may have a point but he woodn't done it much better??

  • @Bossness123 I disagree. I'm not convinced he would have done it better so much as completely differently - this is Mayo's sound much more than his. Wilko'd left two years before this song was made; he would have made it much more earthy, more... I hesitate to use the word punky but it seems to fit. I really like it though, even though I'm way too young to have seen them live. Then again, that's what YouTube is sorta for, isn't it...

  • @leaguesmanoframsgate meh, i like wilko tho

  • To the 13 people who have giventhis a thumbs down.

    Grow up!

  • Where's Wilko ?

  • @RnRolla47 He left in 1977 I think. The guitarist after that was John Gypie Mayo.

  • hot raw sound!

  • Is that Vauxhall Cresta in the background there?

  • @someblokecalleddave1 No, I think it's something like a 1950's Lincoln Premier...I think...

  • Fuckin dead cool man.

  • PLAY LOUD

  • PLAY LOUD

  • The lead singer is in another band called The Alligators and ive met them! They're awesome guys and that dude has still the same energy on stage, he had everyone jumping, great guy great bands!

  • @89drums when did you see this band? cos he's dead :P

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @89drums he died in 1994

  • Its not like the old days...

I promoted Dr Feelgood once, about 1979 I think. They turned up for the soundcheck at 10 to five, milled around on the stage without picking up an instrument, until one of them said "Where's the nearest pub?" We told them, then didn't see them again until 10pm, when they played a note-perfect set. God love them, those that are still alive, anyway.

  • @graemeah grrrrreat!!

  • @graemeah Fantastic. Don't get that anymore lol. Thanks for posting.

  • @graemeah Not much milk I'm guessing.

  • 43er likör + milch !

  • this reminds me when i threw up milk and alchohol

  • @variousmod wild night

  • Great music is great music. Shit music is shit music. This is great music!

  • Wilko was a hard act to follow, but they did do some pretty good tunes with Gypie Mayo on guitar.

  • I used to digg this at age 12, among with the Smiths.

  • @tyttis1972

    me too, still like it!

  • Saw original line up-inc Wilko last fri night at the Oysterfleet,Canvey. Also latest line up and Eddie and the hotrods!!! What a f**king cool night we had.....ears were still ringing 4 days later!!!!!

  • My dad told me to start listening to these, I can see why now.

  • a lot of handbags at dawn here

  • A bit of angst ridden euphoria! Dr Feel Good! When Lady Di first met Charles, in a interview, she said this was her favourite song!!!! There she was all ribbons and bows, and she loved this! It just dont add up!

  • good band. influenced paul weller

  • Would love to find some footage of Wilko Johnson THE original guitarist of Dr Feelgood. GREAT SONG!!!

  • ilove this band i wish i had seen them but i spent my money seeing assholes like gary the twat moore who treats is fans like shit saw him last year he was piss up swearing at fans playing to a backing tape gary moore is the biggest twat in music

  • @yorkshiretractors Gary Moore owns Peter Green's Les Paul. Doesn't help, though.

  • @tappioha no he sold it 2 years ago for over 1 millon pounds after telling peter green he had lost it you can read about this in many books and on the internet that is why peter green hates him ,

  • @yorkshiretractors OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!

    SHUT UP!!!

  • @SoldierofFortune07 na lad you dont have to call me god . by the way did i tell you about that twat gary moore he was piss up when i saw him . he was that piss he was using is backing tape . it was funny when he stop playing the sound kept going . he treats is fans like shit . gary moore the biggest twat in music . by the way go fuck yor sen

  • @yorkshiretractors Learn to articulate yourself and I'll be insulted by whatever drivel you wrote. Frankly I'm not a big fan of moores attitude to his fans, he's a wanker but I draw the line at seeing great videos by great bands being ruined by your hate mail. It's bad enough that you're after flooding most of the thin lizzy vids on youtube with your hate mail.

  • @SoldierofFortune07 YOU MUST BE SOME SORT OFF ASSHOLE , I COME FROM YORKSHIRE WE DONT FUCK ABOUT WE SAY WHAT WE THINK . and what i think is gary moore is the biggest twat in music and as been ripping fans off for years and geting away with it but not now folks are sick of him for the way he treats fans like shit and to call if hate mail is crap it is saying what you think and if more folk did the brown the clown would not be runing the uk your nowt but 21 grow up and piss off .

  • @yorkshiretractors Sorry, could you translate that into English for me please?

  • @SoldierofFortune07 NO I DONT TALK ENGLISH . ONLY YORKSHIRE . BUT I WILL TRY DO YOU KNOW WHAT FUCK OFF MEENS THAT IS ENGLISH I THINK

  • My dad always made us listen to them when we were kids, I just remebered them I used to love them!

  • Pure energy, there s just been a film out about them and the Canvey island pub scene, should be good. Lee Brilleaux died back in 94, but wilco still tours and is apparently still very good.

  • Wow! This is a great song :D Anyone know the main singer's name?

  • @Beatlebug60 Lee Brilleaux (Brillo)

  • @tappioha yeah Nick Lowe produced one of their records.

  • @maclennan73 possibly more not sure...shel talmy's assistant...VIC MAILE was the man that delivered succes and camaraderie. VIC was a magician...I think Richard Gotherer did one album too...these were magic times...better than mp3s and do-it-in-a-kitchen session with a recording device that's smaller than your dick (well I know depends on the size of your dick I suppose)

  • Is one of them dead?

  • @mrtamberineman123 lead singer dead

  • If my memory serves me right DR Feelgood was doing US Tour and Nick Lowe was hanging around. They went to see John Lee Hooker gig and had too many shots of M & A. Police grabbed them and Nick was too talkative cracking jokes. There were guns pulled etc. Close shave.

So he and Gypie made this song abou that incident..

  • This song just makes me wanna grab a long haired biker and have GOOD TIMES!

  • good track

  • softlad you got shit for brains

  • doctors put you on a diet of milk and brown ale when you can't digest solid food. carbohydrate rich. that's what the reference is here. obviously it's a metaphor for white men playing the blues.

  • pas de fair....

  • Milk & alcohol... is the drink he's singing about a White Russian? Only drink I can think about that has milk in it.. :D

  • @DeceasedDeath

    Monkey tail, Baily's cream, etc

This makes you happy. I just put this in my MP3, this is the kind of tune you want to listen to on a warm, sunny summer day.

  • luv this

  • Rock´n´roll rules !!!!

  • Wilko and the solid senders were smokin' when I saw them support Frankie Miller around 82

  • Wilko Johnson left & formed Wilko Johnson's Solid Senders. Not a great success.

    (RIP Lee)

  • wilko ftw

  • No, it isn't Wilko on guitar - it is the great Gypie Mayo who replaced Wilko in 1977 and wrote this song!

  • That is Wilko Johnson on guitar right?

  • Yes thats true but thanks for watching, you appreciate talent.

  • fucking fantastic great song

  • this fucking rocks

  • I heard this song for the first time earlier this week; it is definitely my new favorite song.

  • On Buzzcocks...?

  • It's just pure attitude, all stripped down and saying, "you want some???!!" One for my tight 70's suit and a karaoke night. Effin great.

Oil city confidential will be srceened across essex cinemas on 2nd February 2010
