  • That's as chained up as you can be I guess, you definitely are a pro. I added your video on my tutorial page of my channel

  • If you're gonna chain your steer axle you should chain the passenger side. That way if it breaks it won't tear up as much like your steering box/shaft.

  • @vectorvistar A lot oif time we have chained up BOTH steer tires But I have allways dont the drivers side as to keep that extra traction on the crown of the road.. If the passenegr tire slips off the road you are done, the drivers side I try to keep in the top of the roads crown and more than once had I done the other side I wouod have been in the tulips.. but its all a matter of choice

  • how much snow and ice must you have before you put them on and how soon would you take them off when you get on the tarmac (asphelt)?.

  • @gylanunderhill It all depends on where you are going?/ (steep hills etc) the time of year (winbter or raining =slick) also sometiomes the customer wants us to chain up at a certain point for safety reason.. as you can see from my other vids some places we go are pretty extreme

  • @bigdaddytom1973 Trygg chainbs are the makers.. You may have to special order them.. but just about every one running off road in the oil patch uses them

  • lol so im sry im on my gf account . but im luckey if there isent a day that i dont have to chain up . big bed chains are 98 lbs not full of mud or ice lol .

  • Well sometimes to get into newer leases with that wet clay ( after a good rain)you need all the chains on to get in, and yes I prefer winter chaining no mud running down your neck while unchaining.. At some rigs the engineer specifies that we are to chain up at a certain mile maker/location for saftey reasons steep hills etc..Ill try to get a video of nme throwing on a set of trips some time soon

  • Just a quck question, how fast can you drive with chains on your drives??

  • All depends on conditions.. mud.. wet snow.. ligfht snow.. terran but you want to keep it under 60 km/hr other wise you risk tearing them apart

  • thanks for the video.

  • Well at least I CAN chain up buddy... you couldnt remember??And I even offered to help you by showing you but you refused. remember? B TW you have been blocked now also I sent you a list of "LOCAL" driving jobs in a mesaagfe..

  • @Royalhighlander everyone is a critic. Ive chained up a few times but Im sure you`ve forgotten more than I have ever learned. Great post didnt know about this one. Yup this is real-deal Alberta oilpatch hauling right here! LOL

  • triple ice chains, gotta love em

  • Ive gotten a lot of messages asking to explai what a triple was and what it measn to throw jellerwry etc so I decided to do this short vid to explain things

  • you have the big chains like we do down here in the southwest us for the oilfields

they are a pain to put on but have gotten me out of mud to the hubs a few times

  • I allways ask for the "heavy sets" when I need to replace my chains. as you said they'll get you out ofa lot, also they dont come apart as easily as the cheaper lighter chains.. I chained up 12 times in JULY this past summer lol

  • cant say its my favorite thing to do,at least with logs we get alot of weight on our drives, helps alot

  • damn, thats alot of chains!!

  • Yup it can be BUT it also gets me where im goping in a safe manner

  • A shout out to that loader operator for a good safe job he did..Thanks
