from a ar15?the notch on the bottom end of the bolt carrier is a AR15 for semi auto, but m16's dont have the notch, so it can reset the sear for full auto applications.But if you put a M16 BC in a AR15 nothing will happen it will still remain semi auto BUT it will cycle better. the FA BC is heavier. you need the sear in the lower receiver to actually make the weapon full auto.put a AR15 BC in a M16 will take away the full auto because it have the notch so it cant reset the sear
