lol you actually can shoot the option stealer?

  • Are you sure this is the hardest difficulty (Loop 8)? Because the bosses there looked a lot weaker than what they seemed to what their suppose to look like. I think you did great its just that I don't think its set to the hardest difficulty that's all.

  • This isn't loop 8: this is "Hardest", the difficulty chosen in the game options.

That's why I wrote "Hardest" with the quotes. ;)

  • Ahh, you should do it once more with Loop 8 on the Hardest difficulty :P

    Would be an..interesting match!

  • playing single player is 2 boring isnt it?XD

  • I wonder what that little bug looking is that flys in from behind you at 1:46

  • It called an Option Hunter and they are in ever game since Graidus II.

  • You should try Stage 2-8 and its extra boss, Heaven's Gate.

  • OMG YOU'RE BILL307 OMG

Great job there. Makes me want to somehow try Gradius V double play >_>

  • OMG ITS SHINER SEE SEE SEE! Mr. Wall-canoes and firing in time with the music! Do you still make shmup videos? (You should: they rocked.)

Thanks! I tried to double-play Gradius V once, but the game won't let you move two ships with the two analog sticks on the same controller, afaik :(. I guess it might be almost-not-uncomfortable with 2 joysticks (VTF-style), who knows. If you do find a way to double-play Gradius V, though, let me know. :)

  • I have a Soul Calibur II arcade stick, it's not very good but it can work. If only I could assign something to L3, I would hold a PS2 controller in my left hand and fly the other ship using that arcade stick with my right hand. Maybe I could just assign option control and powerup to the same button *_*

  • Holy crap... nicely done man...

Still finding it hard to believe that you were controlling both...

    Once again nicely done...

  • Nice video Bill, you had some close calls. I want you to make a loop 2 version of that stage, I hope you do a stage 9 video. I give five stars.

  • I need to find a place to install a modchip in my slim PS2 so I can play imports... but not having any luck.

  • Have my children.

  • Now that I watched the video again, you almost died at Tetran again (00:48)! :)

  • Wow, you did it. Neo Big Core looked the worse out of all of them. Maybe that video of you just dodging the bullets could be a side-project. Good luck on Stage 9.

  • Sweeeeeeeet Still a big fan of your work and impressed as always Bill!!! Keep it coming =D

  • Ah Bill's back to work on Gaiden, it's been awhile, glad to see you back on this one.

  • Thank you. I'm hoping to finish stage 9 during the spring break as well. I tried practicing it a couple of hours ago, and stage 9 is brutal. Surprisingly, the first two mid-bosses were easy, but I didn't beat Big Ducker even once, despite having a state saved before him T_T;;. Looks like I'll have to come up with a solid plan to beat him.

  • Nice job. What kind of controller setup are you using?

  • Thanks. I have one Logitech Dual Shock USB controller (basically a PS2 controller). Each joystick is mapped to control a ship. The two shoulder buttons on each side are mapped to shooting (with auto-fire) and powering up for each ship.

  • omg - you use the analog sticks to control? I was never able to play shooters with those. Nice job.

  • You did it?! That has got to be very pressuring doing that run O_O; Great work!

  • That was awesome dude XD

  • Thanks! :)
