@FeRoCiiOuS You can still do it i have a windows 7 laptop im using right now that i have installed windows xp on the other partition i just went to the toshiba website to download appropriate drivers and set my "AHCI" settings in bios to compatability mode before installing xp so it does not blue screen on me while installing xp.

Using your Windows 7 installation disc, boot to the command prompt at startup.

Type in these comands below, and press enter after each one.

bootrec /FixMbr,

bootrec /FixBoot,

bootrec /RebuildBcd.

Exit the command prompt and restart the computer.

At this point, Windows 7 should boot up the same way before trying to install XP.

you need at least 12.2GB to run windows 7 which is cool i know this because i made a 12GB partition and installed windows 7 on it so you don't need that much space to run windows 7 but you need at least 1GB of ddr or RAM to run windows 7 or 512mb.

The best route for you guys would be to backup everything important, and then completely format your hardrive, and fresh install XP as your first OS. Then windows 7. I don't even recommend Xp anymore tho.. Just use Windows 7. If your on vista, you can install any other os except windows xp. Windows XP has to be DRIVE C. That's the only problem

Try to press backspace when you turn on your pc and see the BIOS (keep spamming the button) if you have a MSI motherboard you'll see a choice to boot between hard disks with the OS's on it (sorry for the bad English), I don't know if this is MSI only tho...

@najboljiiii It's always better to have windows xp on the C drive, thats where most old drivers install. So your saying you can only run windows XP? I think your boot file got ruined.. I suggest that you backup all your important files on a new partition and then delete every other partition except windows XP and change it to C, it will avoid future problems, and then just simply make a new partition and reinstall your OS. It's a pain but it's the best way, xp should be on c.

Theres no 3rd party apps for vista... i did a google search of the partition problem and it seems that 64 bit vista have big compatibilty issuses........

Only thing that will work is to fully reinstall a new os. Delete vista with all your files. =/ Well if you organize stuff into whats important and what you can get later on you might only need to back up 20 gigs . idk man =(

Hi endof. Are you SURE 100 Percent sure you changed it? at 2:20 it lets you change it to whatever you like. Since you have so much Hdd type this in "45000" im sure it will work, post a comment if it did or didnt ill get back to u.

Hi inutel69. Of course you can....you can always dual boot no matter what specs...but you wont get a smooth windows vista with that. With 1 gig of ram vista wont be Smooth, and i dont recomend vista at all.. try windows 7 It will run on your pc. If you want windows 7 leave a comment ill post a video how to install it without wasting a DVD =D only if you guys want windows 7 tho.
