best version ever ???/ if lisa fischer hadn't been there it would have been a mediocre performance, i had the pleasure of seeing them play this live when mick taylor was with them, his guitar playing blew me away, something keef and ronnie could never do.
@lbc213spyda The reason I've only just gotten into the Stones is that they've never appealed to me before. But I have been listening to music for a very long time, and I can tell you, this is a good performance, but if it's the best version of this song, they must not do a very good version. ...
I have to admit, I have just gotten into the Stones this year, so I have little place in saying this, but if this is the best performance, they must not do this song well on stage. They seem to be struggling just to play it. The only person who isn't struggling is the female singer. She just looks terribly distracted by the lack of cohesion coming from the rest of the band. There must be something better out there, right?
lisa fischer makes this a bit special, all that was missing was mick taylor on guitar and THEN you would have heard the greatest version of this brilliant song.
@CruzAzulLasVegas Not sure what Keith and Ronnie are playing here - not their best. I think the Bridges to Babylon is a much better live version, with Lisa at her best. Can't beat the original studio version for pure soul however. One of the greatest blues-rock tunes ever made. It still gives me chills after hearing it for over forty years. C# - B - A for ever.
This is wonderful... but who could expect less from the Rolling Stones! Love this version! Thank you for sharing.....
