  • Why some womem are not using veil?

  • Very interesting and beautiful.

    Thank you a lot

    Happy Easter!

  • Hristos a Inviat !!!

  • Sarajevo was also the first city in Europe and the second city in the world to have a full-time operational electric tram network running through the city, the first being San Francisco. Lonely Planet has named Sarajevo as the 43rd best city in the world, and in December 2009 listed Sarajevo as one of the top ten cities to visit in 2010.

  • More recently, the city suffered under the Siege of Sarajevo during the Bosnian War. Today the city is recovering and adjusting to a post-war reality, as a major center of culture and economic development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  • Although settlement in the area stretches back to prehistoric times, the modern city arose as an Ottoman stronghold in the 15th century. Sarajevo has attracted international attention several times throughout its history: In 1914 it was the site of the assassination that sparked World War I, while seventy years later it became the host city of the 1984 Winter Olympics.

  • The city is famous for its traditional religious diversity, with adherents of Islam, Orthodoxy, Catholicism and Judaism coexisting there for centuries. Due to this long and rich history of religious diversity and coexistence Sarajevo has often been called the "Jerusalem of Europe" or "Jerusalem of the Balkans".

  • Sarajevo (Serbian Cyrillic: Сарајево) is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 310,605 people in the four municipalities that make up the city proper, and a metro area population of 436,572 people in the Sarajevo Canton as of June 2010. It is also the capital of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity, as well as the center of the Sarajevo Canton. Sarajevo is located in the Sarajevo valley of Bosnia, surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and situated around the Miljacka river.

  • Sarajevo looks pretty - must go for vacation...NOT!

  • Greetings and best wishes to Serb Christians from Germany!

    Defeat Islam and free Sarajevo!

  • @BringBackMy90s 90s must represent your birth year. Keep your hate at your house don't try to spread it.

  • @SuperBosanac

    Wrong, Mr.Muslim-man, wrong.

It represents Nostalgia for the 90s, and stands for 90s experience.

But who would expect you to understand such values anyway...

And dont tell me about hate, you must have invented it.

Now get the hell back to your Taliban hole preparing Jihad, whatever.

  • @BringBackMy90s

The only thing that should be defeated is your ignorance and childish hate. Sarajevo does not need to be freed. Respect the Bosnian Serbs and their right to live in peace, and respect their thousands of dead in the siege, killed by those who bombed and killed people to "free" Sarajevo. Stay away from here and try to learn about the values that "Christians" should hug. And something about Islam, too. Bosnian Muslims could teach you a lot about it, and a lot about tolerance too.

  • @DIGISEAvideos

Nice talk about respect and values, while christians had suffered 500 years from Islam rule and still do, especially in Bosnia.

Go and bring your stranger muslim "tolerance" to Pakistan or Arabia first, before teaching european christians or the old freedom fighting serb nation.

  • @Kasbeke

Pls explain what "sufferings" have endured, and still do, Christians from Islam rule, specially in Bosnia: maybe to be forced to coexist with other religions? And tell me, how many Christians are in Arabia (you maybe mean "Saudi Arabia"?) or in Pakistan? The Serb nation does not need to be defended by people like you. Let them live in peace. And please, try to explain me what does this has to do with my video about a Serbs celebration in Sarajevo.

  • @BringBackMy90s

So where you saw it here the Taliban's or Jihadist, another one of your stuppid conclusion...i guess so!? :)

Maybe it's your clue at brain!:)

  • Beautiful ... Easter is my favorite holiday.

  • Христос Воскресе

  • Христос воскресе, братья наши сербы!

    С любовью из России!

  • Srbin je Srbin ma gdje bio...

  • kosovo is srbija and srbija is great country!

  • Indeed, Srbija is a great country, and indeed Kosovo is part of Srbija. Indeed there are a lot of people in Srbija and Kosovo that are not serbian, and deserve the same rights of Serbs, and indeed so many people of any side were mistreated and are still hungry for revenge. But what all this has to do with my video?!?!

  • This sure looks like an Orthodox religious sevice to me.

  • the orthodox will once again rule sarajevo!!!!!!!!

  • The orthodox never ever ruled Sarajevo. Learn history, you ignorant, keep religion off your sectarian quarrels and stay away from this page, thank you.

  • please sorry x my ignorance, but what is the big diference, besides the pope autority, between catholic & orthodox church... the priest can marriage? they don`t believe in virgen? please someone answer me...

  • They must marriage if they whant to be priests only if they become monastery priests, then they must be not married. Is ok beeing married, St. Peter was married to, is not a sin. It was the same to catholics but they changed and impose only not married priests.

  • fino je vidjeti multukulturnost u nasoj domovini Bosni i Hercegovina..zivjela i pravoslavna i katolicka i muslimanska vjera u nasoj Bosni..ZIVJELI SVI BOSANCI I HERCEGOVCI

  • @DIGISEAvideos / before islam, what religion bosnian had? i thought its christianity,so it was catholic?

  • @singularku

Islam arrived in Bosnia in 1463, when the Great Schism between eastern and western christian churches was not clearly final yet.

Some scholars think that the peculiar religion of Bosniak people was Bogomilism, a gnostic sect related to Catharism, and this affected their initial conversion to Islam. Bosnians have different religions though,

  • - following -

Bosnians have different religions though, the serbian Bosnians, that stayed in Sarajevo during the whole siege, enduring death and starvation as all

Sarajevans at the hands of self proclaimed "defender of Serbs", are Eastern Orthodox, of course, then there are catholics, referred as "Croatians", and Jews (Sarajevo has been a major centre of Sephardic culture: see the history of Sarajevo Haggadah). Sufism too has been important in Bosnia.

  • - following -

But with such an intricated history, is not possible to be sure of the roots of todays' religion. It's enough to know that religions coexhisted peacefully for five centuries. My wish is that Sarajevans will be able again to celebrate all religions holidays as they have done for so long, breaking forever the chain of hate, revenge and reprisals.

  • Христос воскресе! المسيح قام

  • Христос воскресе!!!

  • Lets pray for Serbian Christian Orthodox heart Kosovo & Metohija Luke 1:10 (KJV)

And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

  • so beautiful!

  • Thak You for posting this Video.

    Thank You.

  • hey?! I am soadmax, i didn't post this comment! ....

  • at least serbs have freedom of expression in Sarajevo I wonder if a Bosniak can do the same let's say in Pale ?

  • Bosnian Federation is a democratic country, with freedom of religion.Scars are still sensitive, but there are many mosques in RS too. This video isn't an endorsement to any supposed "ethnic" group in Bosnia, nor any religion. It's meant to be a homage to the Sarajevan community, that has preserved the very diversities that warmongers tried to wipe away.A girl said "We are Bosnians not because we're Muslims,Orthodox,or Catholic, but because we can live all together".That's it,war MUST be over, period.

  • I agree with everything you said, scars are still evident. RS has mosques too but keep in mind that RS was created to be a pure serbian orthodox entity, hence the ethnic cleansing. However many serbs remained and fought for multiethnic Sarajevo against the fascist chetniks. Bosnia can exist only as one and united.

Ma ci sono napoletani anche a Sarajevo ?

  • It's everyone's task (including Europe)to cutoff with past and crimials association. Today's Bosnia is not perfect, but it's time to go over wounds and work for future. In war, both criminals and innocent victims are on all sides. And well, Sarajevo is a multiethnic city, e molti napoletani viaggiano...

  • did you just say"Ethnic cleansing"?How many Serbs lived in Sarajevo before the war and how many are left there today? so please cut the "ethnic cleansing" crap and go and check your facts.

  • census in Sarajevo pre war, 525 000 of which 33% serbs. Many left abroad before the beginning of the war like many muslims and croats , some went on the chetnik side and started shelling and starving the city many other remained to defend the city and their "muslim and croat: neighbors against narrow minded fascist chetniks like yourself.

  • The real reason behind this war is Bosnians Serbs and Muslims having different views on the future of Bosnia: On one hand, the Bosnian Muslim Izetbegovitch willing to create a "multi ethnic" Bosnia ultimately SUBJECTED TO THE ISLAMIC LAW OF SHARIA, on the other, Serb Karadzic+Muslim dissident Fikret Abdic willing to remain within Yugoslavia... If you add up the Bosnian Croats and their plans of a greater Croatia, you get a clearer and fairer picture of everyone's motivation in this war.

  • "Soadmax" reply to "Valdigne" follows

  • all right listen cut the crap and save it for someone else. Were you in Sarajevo during the war ? apparently not so shut the hell up. Accepting Republika srpska would be accepting ethnic cleansing which apparently you are still living in denial. The only sick view for you serbs is to conquer land up to Tokio.

  • RS is a recognized and respectable entity of BiH federation, as long as they comply to any civil nation obligation, such the prosecution of criminals. This is not the right place to discuss this, but it is not right to blame a whole people for their government's behavior.

  • kido, you are obviously the product of 15 years of Milosevic propaganda, for fucks sake do I have to remind you that from 91 to 99 you started 4 wars ? Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia , Kosovo , repression in Sandjak and minorities in Vojvodina when is serbia actually going to apologize to all of them ?

    Srbija Ko nokia

  • Hej, i'm sorry but i didn't post those comment

  • Please, this video was intended as a homage to the Sarajevan Serbian community, their traditions and their culture, do not insult them, blaming them for crimes committed in their name, but not by them. WAR IS OVER!

  • Please, before any such statement, read the Bosnian Cleric's Declaration to European Muslims, February 24, 2006. History has already judged such point of view like yours, and will never forgive Europe to have abandoned Bosnia for so long.

  • Religion is a narcotic in which humans control their anguish but blunts their minds.

    Freud

  • If one feels his anguish is too strong for him, and wish to blunt his mind enough to control it, he does deserve as much respect as the ones who do not.

  • sei una persona saggia, onore a te.

  • Stunningly beautiful!!!

  • The Orthodox Church is the ONLY Church that has remained unchanged for over 2,000 years and is the LEAST contaminated, and the PUREST of ALL Christian Churches. It has remained true to the Canons, the Apostolic Tradition and the Church Fathers, with no additions or modernisms or inventions. This is Christianity in its purest, most preserved form!

  • That's the reason for it is called "orthodox", I suppose! The deep respect deserved in millenniums by the Orthodox Church is also due to the fact that it has always respected other faiths. But bad guys can exploit even the purest religion to do evil. So let's respect anybody else's religion as if it was as pure as any other, ok? Thanks for visiting!

  • I was brought to true tears when I read your message.

Truely, the Orthodox Church is pure Christianity.

    -Phronema

  • Well, depicting the "Serbian Orthodox Easter in Sarajevo", the language of the liturgy it's supposed to be "Serbian". However, my knowledge of the languages of the former Jugoslavia is not enough to appreciate the differences between Bosnian and Serbian, but most probably it's Serbian.

  • the language is indeed serbian but occasionally when you hear the priests speak as they are probably from the region they speak Serbian with an accent

  • Thanks, I wasn't able to understand it.

  • What language is it?

  • Beautiful video! Orthodoxy forever!

  • Thank you! Coexistence and tolerance in a multicultural world forever!

  • He is risen indeed! Your brothers and sisters from Saint Cornelius in Amersfoort, the Netherlands share your joy.

  • Khristos Voskrese!

  • Just for sake of thruth, I need to specify somethg. A blogger who linked this video notes, as a pitiful curiosity, that "they have no chairs to sit in!". As many know, most traditional Eastern Orthodox churches have no chairs or pews at all, except some high arms wooden seats along the nave side walls (so called "stacidia"), visible in this video. The Orthodox community in Sarajevo is still recovering after the siege, but in no way they suffer for a lack of "chairs" in their beautiful church.

  • The bishop Kallistos of Diokleia writes:" in every place of worship when the Holy Sacrifice is offered, not merely the local congregation is present, but the Church universal - [...] the Mother of God, and Christ himself." I am no Christian, but for a believer in the presence of such company, the most natural action may not be to sit in a seat.

  • I totally agree! Thanks for visiting, and for the very appropriate and brilliant comment!

  • bas lepo videti ovakav dokumentarac

  • @airsolaja

    hvala!
