  • Congress needs to pass the ADSAA. The Anti-divorce, separation, and adulatory act. Anyone who cheats on their spouse, divorces, or separates can be arrested and sentenced to death

since that is the cirsten way

  • How about the fact that our physical bodies are not built for same sex unions Even if you believe the lie of evolution, how can that be explained. Nothing can be cultivated through same sex unions except two poeple who are happy doing what THEY want to do, or "Doing as thou wilt'

  • @josephswanson1

So what? It's none of your business.

  • Cenk needs to read the book of Acts where it explains laws regarding shellfish applied only to Moses and were ceremonial. It is as insignificant as the fruit Adam and Eve were prohibited from eating. The sinfulness of homosexuality, as well as adultery, divorce, fornication, idolatry etc, is repeated throughout the New Testament as being part of the moral law.

  • @MrEnlighteneddespot So you say that everything that Judeo-christianity is based on is "ceremonial", yet what four old guys wrote about Jesus had the weight of law? Yeah, right.

that being said, I do eat shellfish and I'm Jewish. And I think this whole New Testament thing was Roman fluff trying to flavor Judaism for Roman tastes.

  • @Rickyrab Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were prophets selected by the Father to proclaim the glory of Jesus' life and his earth, and the message of his death and resurrection- if you believe in him you shall have everlasting life (John 3: 16-18). Its ultimately your choice what you believe however I will tell you what I see to be the truth.

  • @MrEnlighteneddespot John 3: 16-18... so you believe something on the cereal box because the cereal box says so?

  • @MrEnlighteneddespot

The truth is that the despotic biblical god once considered it acceptable if you offered your daughter to rapists, sold her as a slave, or stoned your unruly child to death. Thankfully, times have changed.

  • @MrEnlighteneddespot So your god is so petty that he would condemn you for eating shellfish?

  • @rpsmith014 You need to read the entire Bible including the book of Acts where Christ informs Peter that the ceremonial dietary law of Moses was no longer valid and shellfish is now back on the menu! The reason it was outlawed under Old Testament law is because it, along with Pork and other food, where potentially harmful and God wanted the people of his chosen nation Israel to have a good standard of living which explains some of the petty laws put into place at the time.

  • @MrEnlighteneddespot Interesting.

  • two wrongs don't make a right Cenk.

  • @pjpopper Uhh wtf. No. Gay people care about the economy and other issues just as much as anyone else. It's disgusting that straight people DON'T care as much about gay rights as they should. It's the exact same feeling black people went through in the 60's. It's not that they don't care; it's just that it's a major issue when your own rights are trampled on. Your opinion is ridiculously ignorant.

  • The Young Turds.

  • @pjpopper What agenda? And also just because gay people want equal rights doesn't mean they don't care about other people's rights too...what are you talking about?

  • Marriage is between a man and a woman said the prostitute.

  • gay marriage is NOT an issue of religion, or at least it should not be. it's a matter of civil liberties, but most people don't realize that the government should not be based on any one religion.

  • Shhhhh Dylan! Let Cenk speak!

  • God hates shrimp.

  • how is this a legal issue since it has nothing to do with religion ever since the government(s) got involved? yes i see a church having the right, in the USA, to say no we won't marry same sex due to our religion but... how in the world does our government currently, after all we have been through in the past, have the right to so blatantly oppress and punish a minority on a religious front? so you only have rights or equality, in the USA, if you are christian? daymn. how do the Jewish do it?

  • That does it! Red Lobster must be shut down lest God strike America down!

  • @ThePhantom135 Yup. While we're at it, we should stone all disobedient children to death. :P

  • Plus same sex marriage has been in america for longer than christianity has.

  • Plus seperation of church and state. If religion is the only reason without showing harm done to non consenting parties it shouldn't be a law. We are not a theocracy

  • Excuse me, but was the Bible, the Torah, the Koran, etc. ALL written by MEN with their individual and community beliefs/disbeliefs/likes/dislikes/loves/hatreds? In other words, all the biases and neuroses of those who actually put pen to paper. Not to mention it has been re-written/edited several times and has been changed a bit since the original, which we DO NOT have. How can it make any difference if folks you don't know get married? Don't you just feel the love?

  • @TheSchmuckLook all about money and tax breaks married couples get. that and distraction to keep anyone from opposing key issues that steal your money and put it in their pockets...

  • It is speculated (and hinted quite strongly) that the ancient Spartans had intimate same sex relationships. Why? To strengthen their sense of teamwork within any size formation. Their women were not the only women in the Greek Senate, but they were the ONLY women allowed to have the floor to speak.

So what does that tell us about gay marriage? Or same sex relationships at all for that matter?

  • WHAT?! YOU MEAN TO ACTUALLY READ OUR BIBLE? THE BOOK WE BASE OUR ENTIRE LIVES OFF OF? That seems like a lot of work

  • @TMBrd89 Jesus was a homosexual Jew so Gays should be allowed to be married

  • The bible is a really lame reason to ban gay marriage. Marriage has been around for centuries, and in many different, non-christian cultures. If you don't want a gay marriage to be done in your church, than that is your right and you should have it. But don't prevent other churches from doing so if they want to and let people get married at a state level if they want to. Don't hide hate behind religion.

  • I have studied the Bible, not just read it. The Bible says that for a man to lay with another man as he would with a woman is an abomination in the OT, But it also says it in the NT, Abuser of themselfs with mankind shall not enter into the Kingdom of heaven. 1st Co 6:9 and 1st Ti 1:10, but no where in the NT does it speak out against many of the other things that are spoken against in Lev. OT, because those things were repeled by God/Jesus in the NT. Don't just read the Bible Study it.

  • @Fitzlight62 "...does the version of the translation of the bible you are refering to, explicitly state " ....repeled by God/Jesus..." or is that your interpretation ? your preachers? other?

  • I have studied the Bible, not just read it. The Bible says that for a man to lay with another man as he would with a woman in the OT, But it also says it in the NT, Abuser of themselfs with mankind shall not enter into the Kingdom of heaven. 1st Co 6:9 and 1st Ti 1:10, but no where in the NT does it speak out against many of the other things that are spoken against in Lev. OT, because those things were repeled by God/Jesus in the NT. Don't just read the Bible Study it.

  • @Fitzlight62 also, if we grant , (for the sake of discussion), the version, of the translation, of the bible you claim to "study", explicitly states "...was repeled by God/ Jesus..." . please try to imagine being there and accually witnessing what , if anything , regarding this statement. would the "witness" of this repealed scripture be like a court reporter, hearing the words of God. perhaps " I , God, with my son Jesus, do hereby repeal the following ." or, continues..

  • @Fitzlight62 continued..or perhaps the "witness" wrote down his interpretation of what he thought he heard, saw... just like that age old exhibit of 2 people seeing/ hearing the same thing and going away with different interpretations of what they saw / heard. also that age old exhibit of a testimony being told down the line of 10 people . by the time the tenth person shares his interpretation of the original testimony, its often if not always, way off the original testimony.

  • Cenk talks about the bible as if it we're ""The Good Book" while in reality it's FULL of crap.

  • There something not right here. A man can not marry more than one women, yet two people of the same gender living together are recognized by the state, and yet people are compaigning for even more rights for gays. WTF?

  • @fomiz

Well, if you want to campaign for polygamy why don't you?

  • What the fuck is up with this Young Turk guy... fucking fag lover

  • @Blazinglitez what its p with this biggot? fucking hater

  • @Blazinglitez I'm also a fag lover, so what?

  • marriage is a civil as well as religious rite, and civil always trumps religious. period, end of story

  • well put , Cenk

  • we should kill all faggots so they can stop spreading their arse cheeks and their fags disease

  • @W3TFART, how many people did you infect by bending over and spreading your diseased ass cheeks?

  • lol at his reaction at 1:56

  • Yeah ,that's right, you can be stoned to death for being gay, working on the Sabbath, or for cursing your parents. Oh, and if a man has sex with the wife of a married slave, the sole punishment is sacrificing a ram to the Lord. (Leviticus 19 v20-22) Hmmm, let's see. It's pretty much ok to rape or commit adultery with a slave woman, as long as you follow it up with an act of animal cruelty.--Got it!! Gee, the Bible makes so much sense now.

  • The real question is, wtf do we need to make decisions based on what the bible says? What happened to a country that was founded BASED on a freedom of religion? "Religious Right" <--shouldn't even be considered. Why? Because we should make decisions INDEPENDENT of the bible.

  • here's the difference....gay people like to suck, fuck and do things straight women won't... that's just the beginning.....

    my mouth is open.

  • gay marrage is the same as someone wanting to marry there dog

  • @cococeltic You're a fucking retard. You're basically saying you value anyone of your own sex as much as you value dogs. You horrible fucking person.

  • @cococeltic yeah cuz dogs can sign legal contracts right?

  • @cococeltic obvious troll is obvious.

  • Gay marriage, is it just white people and pedophiles who do thing ?

  • A lot of those laws had nothing to do with your spiritual life. It's referring to things like crabs or lobster. They couldn't properly sanitize them, so they couldn't eat them. Having a homosexual relationship can also be detrimental to your health. (Takes AIDS for example) I love how people don't even bother ask WHY they couldn't eat shellfish..

  • @AfthartosVideos You're more likely to get AIDS in a heterosexual relationship than a homosexual relationship btw.

  • @JoeDR93 I never said I wasn't against straight adultery...

  • @AfthartosVideos Nope straight people have aids than gay and all of it can be solved via sexual PROTECTION which christians are also against. Also they couldn't properly sanitize other meats yet there was no problem with that. Also funny how you only address that one are not no divorce and death to cheaters and people who work on sunday etc. Face the fact your book is filled with immoral nonsense.

  • @pandasftuw I'm also against divorce and heterosexual adulatory. Regarding your remarks about working on Sunday, Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. Also, why would I bring up the things you mentioned but Cenk didn't? You want me to explain the whole Bible when ever I defend one thing it says? I'll happily answer, to the best of my ability, anything you'd like to ask me though. However, please get the question off your own research and not from Bill Maher's. =)

  • thanks to all str8 ppl who speak up on this obvious injustice. This is STILL america!

  • Year ago, I remember going to a birthday party at The Red Lobster as a guest, and most of the people at the party were a group of friends that met for a weekly bible study. Go figure.

  • Is this supposed to be a news program? It seems more opinion than news, not that I disagree with what they say.

  • Why do we allow people to marry? That should be outlawed , seeing that majority of people cheat anyway and get divorced. Government should stay out of Marriage "Business" and our Bedrooms! It should be no crime if I want to sleep with my cousin and have "Offspring" The word "Family" should banned. Who has a Family any more? Marriage don't work! Look at Hollywood. A "Marriage License" was only created for tax purposes anyway.

  • @mrbunnylamakins you want to sleep with your cousin? please go kill yourself.

  • @RapingRapier Oh so I see your ignorant to sarcasm. Maybe you should take your own advice.

  • @mrbunnylamakins what advice? it was a command.

  • Christians believe that the Bible consists of two ancient covenants. The first between God and Moses, the second between God and Jesus. When that second covenant was brought in, Christians believe the ritualistic elements of the first covenant were done away with. These would include what to eat or not eat (shell fish, pigs, etc.), animal sacrifice, holy sites, ritualistic washing, et cetera. The moral part did not change. These would include the 10 Commandments, for example.

  • Why is Cenk talking about laws from the old testament? He does know that those laws aren't all required for Christians to follow. Only Jews must follow that to a T. Once again he's totally lacking in the facts department.

  • How is gay marriage plausible ? That's the question . No more stupid jokes

  • @southerngirls4fun Good question, now go back and have sex with your third husband...

    Fucking stupid rednecks.

  • Larry king ? Is this man crazy or what ?

  • EXACTLY! READ IT. Don't throw it at someone else. READ the damn thing!

  • Ban Seafood nation hahahahaha

  • Why are the all around best places to live in the world the one's with the smallest governments ........and the worst places are all the one's with a huge government!?!?! IT'S BECAUSE THAT'S THE RIGHT WAY!! FOX NEWS RULES

  • @cybersk

Wow. It's so impressive the way you manage such arguments "up Obama's bunghole" without the slightest shred of argument, evidence, or fact. It's almost as if you don't have any facts at all, but instead rely upon your own shocked and wounded ego to produce a point.

I mean ... seriously ... what, other than remarks about Obama's anus, have you got to offer any conversation?

  • Cenk bend over for Barack, you're so PC, you always say such coooooooool things!

  • Cenk Uygur the Young Democrats college boy, has his big beak up Obama's dunghole.

  • @roberto29

"Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ." -Esphesians 6:5

So ... @roberto29 , when "Jesus said..." the above words (through those who personally knew him, of course), you're saying that he didn't mean them? That he was actually against slavery--despite his "own" words?

How so? Please do explain why "he told" slaves to obey their masters...

  • @arthurneddysmith Most of the epistles (NOT gospels, which is where "Jesus said..." most of the time) were written by Paul. And Ephesians was written by Paul to the church in Ephesus. I'm not condoning slavery. But Paul was also writing to slaves to: "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free." (Eph. 6:7-8). In other words, make lemonade out of lemons.

  • @roberto20

So, to put the matter to rest--unlike your previous position--you now admit that the New Testament condones slavery by setting out the rules for its administration. Great. I'm glad we got that out of the way then.

  • @arthurneddysmith But also understand the world we live in. We do not live in a care free place. Slavery does exist, and take some time and read the rest of that chapter and see that rules are being set for everyone. Now that being said, we're all servants too. We're either servants of God or servants of satan. You're a servant whether believe in it or not. Either way we are all servants. You now get to choose who you're going to serve. God or satan. (1 John 4:8-12)

  • @arthurneddysmith So like i mentioned earlier, i do not condone slavery, nor do I believe that Jesus condones slavery. But we both have to agree that slavery whether we like it or not, is something that exists till this very day, unfortunately. But Paul also exhorts the slave masters. "And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him." (Eph. 6:9)

  • @roberto20

No-one asked you if you condoned slavery or not. No-one even asked you what you opinion of "Jesus'" words were. The point was what the New Testament said, and after denying that the New Testament condoned slavery, you now fall upon semantics. But the point remains: the bible condones slavery. You can't turn around now--after pointing to "holy scripture"--and pretend that some parts are "holy" while others are not. You either believe in the bible, and slavery, or you don't. Choose...

  • @roberto20

No-one asked you if you condoned slavery or not. No-one even asked you what your opinion of "Jesus'" words were. You can't turn around now--after pointing to "holy scripture"--and pretend that some parts are "holy" while others are not. You either believe in the bible, and slavery, or you don't.

  • @arthurneddysmith One thing is reading what the bible says, and another thing is learning what it means. If you read Ephesians 6:9 and IF those slave masters listen to what holy scripture is saying, then you would understand that those slaves actually cease to be slaves and actually become servants. But if you take some time and read what the NT says, or the entire bible for that fact, you will see that love is the main theme. Even though the jews did fall onto some hardships.

  • @arthurneddysmith the bible does not condone slavery. It suggests giving yourself into slavery by your own freewill. Read it in context

  • @roberto20

Oh, I see! So when you originally said "Jesus said..." you didn't actually mean that "Jesus said..." something. What you actually meant was that those words were "written by people who knew him personally" ... not written by Jesus himself ... even though you said "Jesus said...".

So, I have to ask: were you lying back then? Or do you seriously believe that a 112 year-old man quoted verbatim what "Jesus said"?

  • @arthurneddysmith Well what we all have to understand when we read the bible is what is going on exactly. The verse we were speaking about earlier was something Jesus was telling his disciples. As for a "112yr old man quoted verbatim what Jesus said" is not really true. The 1st NT book was written around 10-15yrs after he was crucified, and there is more than 1 author. Multiple EYE WITNESS accounts. So just see the 4 gospels as Biography books haha. So they wrote what "Jesus said".

  • @roberto20

It's odd that you say "Jesus said..." because Jesus Christ didn't actually say anything that is written in the New Testament. That book was written a hundred years after he died ... by humans.

More particularly, that part of the New Testament is in no related to what you have suggested. It deals specifically with a man who owes his master ("his lord") a debt and states that his master could potentially sell him, his wife, and his children for that debt.

  • @arthurneddysmith It was written by people that knew him personally circa 45AD-96AD (or CE as maybe you would refer it) less than a 100yr period. So just imagine the same thing happening to someone today. A group of people write about someone famous and write what they saw and what they heard that famous person say. Eye witness accounts. As for the story part, i just mentioned a possibility. Just like Mozart's "Figaro". They call the Count, "lord" even though his servants weren't slaves.

  • @arthurneddysmith Oh, and i just forgot to bring my point about the Mozart thing haha (i tend to forget that a lot of people don't like opera) Figaro was the count's servant. The reason i brought this opera up was because Figaro himself owed a debt. If he didn't pay his debt, he wouldn't have been sold, but he would've forcibly been given to an elderly woman (the person he owed the debt to) so he can marry. I understand what you mean by "slaves", but i just wanted to clarify a difference.

  • @daveunruh1976

If you are true to your word and not a "cherry picker," the New Testament is the word of your god, and you will happily defend it, right?

Matthew 18:25: "But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made."

So please begin defending slavery ... now:

  • @arthurneddysmith Jesus is talking about a story about a master and his servants. On how the servant owed some money to the master, i'm not saying i'm right or anything, but i'm pretty sure master's wouldn't give their slaves money...read verses 23-35

  • That verse is from the old testament, Things changed a bit when Jesus, one part of the holytrinity came to earth to die for our sins! It also states in the old testament an eye for an eye, and Jesus preached turn the other cheek! So who exactly is cherry picking! Jesus does not specifically preach on homosexuality but does state, hate the sin not the sinner! So many out there say we should be more tolerant, but the very same people who say that, condem me for not liking homosexuality! HYPOCRISY?

  • bombastic

  • LOVE THE SHELLFISH RANT! GREAT!

  • @bobaldeagleclark

How sad that you can't even get modern history right. You blame homosexuals for "aids (sic)" without even the slightest notion where AIDS originated from or that heterosexual sex has been the major cause of its spread across the planet.

That's really no great surprise though. When the facts don't justify your own prejudice, what else are you supposed to do? Change your mind?! -Bah!

  • @TheSnoop105 :D

  • @commonsensejoe,

Oh dear, you've decided to vent your spleen on me,have you?! You tell me then why is it a bad law?! And how do we have the same laws as you when we don't have full equality?! And PLEASE,do NOT quote the scripture at me,if that's your intent.Try using your own words, for a change! People like you are the very reason I broke away from my church,'cause you don't have any gumption to stand alone, without scripture,& tell us what's so 'wrong' about gays & our demands!

  • @CommonSenseJoe @Hairgod1234

What a joke you've become, Joe. You were claiming your prejudice against homosexuality wasn't based on the bible, and yet ... here you are: making excuses for the bible.

It's just too hard to avoid laughing at your words. You claim the bible does NOT say something and when it's quoted to you that it actually does, you claim: "It's a PARABLE!"

Perhaps you just don't know what a parable is, but ... just in case you do, please describe the parable...

  • @bobaldeagleclark

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Oh you sad freak!

  • As far as the law is concerned, religion means exactly jack shit when it comes to marriage. You can get legally married in front of a judge with no religious ceremony, or you can have a Pagan, Jewish, Hindu, or Satanic wedding, it doesn't fucking matter. So how is it that State governments can deny marriage rights to an entire class of people based on the religious beliefs of a few dipshits, when the religious aspect of marriage is absolutely meaningless in the eyes of the law?

  • @Celephaith The definition of marriage is not base on religion, but biology and sociology.

  • So,let me ask all you heterosexuals who feel it's ok to oppress gays by not advocating marriage between same sex couples, what exactly is it you're all scared off?! There's talk of undermining 'traditional marriage'.Many people 'buck' many traditions without the world collapsing. So what if gays wish to have the same rights as the heterosexual world. How is this going to knock the world of it's axis?! Here's a thought, just concentrate on the truly important issues affecting the world today!

  • @popazz1 Why does it have to "scare" us? How about it is just a bad idea and bad law. Gay people have the same rights as I do. They, by virtue of their own choice, simply do not qualify for marriage. Redefining marriage according to sexual preference is a bad idea. Should a bi-sexual be allowed to marry a man and a woman? What about a man with a sexual preference for two women or more? Should he be allowed three wives? Marriage is defined the way it is for a reason.

  • @CommonSenseJoe "it is just a bad idea and bad law."

Gay marriage has been legal in Mass. for several years..........go ahead and share with the class some of the "bad" common sense side affects Joe.

Ive been handing you your ass in this debate all week.......PLEASE, take this chance to prove your facts!

  • @clubindiana4 I would not know. I don't live in Mass. You have been "handing" nothing. All I have done is state the facts. Fact: everyone is born, biologically heterosexual. You are either a man or a woman. You reproduce by intercourse. This is how we are designed. Marriage is an institution built upon the specific personal and social relationship between men and women. Two gay people can call themselves married, but that does not make a reality.

  • I wish I could like this clip a million times. I'm not even gay, but my gay buddy means the world to me. So screw the prudes.

If you're christian, and accept gay folk: I salute you. You're being more true to the "love thy neighbor" in the bible, and have my respect.

If you hate gay folk and are attacking them: then I must tell you to get off your high horse.I don't think my best buddy's love for his BOYFRIEND (as opposed to HUSBAND, since he can't get married) is ANY less then my love 4 my wife.

  • @CommonSenseJoe

"[T]he Bible did not justify slavery."

Were you lying about--or merely ignorant of--the New Testament when you wrote that?

Matthew 18:25: "But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made."

  • @arthurneddysmith I am not flaming at you, honestly but did you read that whole thing or just that one verse? Its one part of a parable where the Master forgives him of his debt but then that same guy goes and persecutes someone for a debt himself. and that "God Don't like that".. thats all.

  • @arthurneddysmith It is called a parable. It is hypothetical story told to teach a specific point. No where in the New Testament, or Old Testament is there a justification for slavery. Slavery existed as a culture norm for centuries until humanity evolved more complex economies. Many slaves or servants volunteered to become such as a mean of making a living. Early Christians would actually sell themselves into slavery in order to get money to feed the poor. It is a historical fact.

  • @CommonSenseJoe

I've pointed to scientific consensus in relation to all of my points, and you've come up with nothing. All you've done is trotted out your own, tired prejudice. Not once have you referred to a study or even a scientist, and yet here you are ... still arguing.

I can't take you seriously anymore. You're just the recalcitrant who can't stand to lose. But if you have some evidence (beside your opinion) that "homosexuality is unnatural," I'm ready to listen...

    Well...

  • @arthurneddysmith Consensus is NOT proof. Global warming should have taught you that. There is no objective scientific evidence for the concept that we are all born with a sexual "orientation" other than heterosexual. None! Take a man who has lived and functioned quite well as a heterosexual for decades. He has fathered several children within a marriage. Suddenly, he decides that he is gay and comes out. This is all based on "feelings", not facts.

  • @CommonSenseJoe "This is all based on "feelings", not facts"

The same is true of being a christian.

  • @clubindiana4 Again, you could not be more wrong. You obviously know nothing about what it means to be a Christian. Can you refer me to ONE single long term study of homosexuality and its affects on people?

  • No seriously though... the bible is simply a tool that was created to justify wrong doings, and to control you. It was used to justify slavery and many other atrocities, just as it is being used today against fags.

  • @TheImmortalcode Actually, the Bible did not justify slavery. Slavery was a part of the culture. Christianity caused the shift in thinking away from slavery.

  • The bible also says that all black people are an abomination and should be sent to special camps for negroes

  • @TheImmortalcode where does it say that?

  • @TheImmortalcode Actually, the Bible says no such a thing. You are confused.

  • @CommonSenseJoe

That's so funny that I struggle to write words.

You're happy to state that homosexuality is unnatural, "a choice," and that animals--unlike humans--have no choice, and yet ... when you're confronted with the fact that homosexuality occurs in animals--at rates AT LEAST equal to the rates in humans, you run an hide.

As if it's not enough that every reputable medical body disagrees with your opinion. You're somehow better than all those silly scientists...

  • @arthurneddysmith How do we know that homosexuality occurs in animals at rates equal to humans? Do we even know for sure the percentage of homosexuals in our population? Has there ever been a real scientific study done on homosexual behavior and its affects? Do you know why an animals does what it does? If a male dog humps another male dog, is that considered homosexual behavior? What if he then humps a female dog, is he bisexual then? In 1973-74, it was the gay community forcing the change

  • I love how they talk about Christians and he pulls up the verses in the Old Testament about shellfish being an abomination. If they were talking about Judaism he would have a valid argument, but Jesus made all food clean, so the food point he makes holds no validity to a Christian.

It's a shame when people attempt to counteract Christian points by pulling up laws an practices that were nullified by Jesus Christ. Please educate yourself, even though the Bible will supersede any argument he makes.

  • Comment removed

  • When I was handling my rattlesnakes the other day god told me that women were e worth 2/3 of a mans penis and gays were an abominable snowman.

  • And so "we (humans) make choices" unlike animals who can't make choices ... and yet homosexuality occurs at the same rate in humans and it does in animals.

Are you suggesting that your god made some animals gay, or are you now going to change your mind and say that animals can make choices too?

Are you a fan of slavery on top of all this? -Both the old and new testaments tolerate and advocate it, so you must be.

  • @arthurneddysmith My son's female dog tries to hump a female dog. Does this mean she is gay? I had a dog once that thumped a stuffed rabbit? What sexual orientation is that? Homosexuality is a behavior. When someone says an animal is homosexual, that is a subjective opinion based on the assumption that sexual orientation even exists. I have no based anything I have said on the Bible, so I am not sure what the question about slavery is for. Yes, slavery did exist as means of employment.

  • @hootieTV

I see. So we should have ignored the Old Testament and instead paid attention to the New one ... which is based on the old.

Wow! Others may find inconsistency and desperation in your words, but I've swallowed them wholesale and have naturally just assumed that your god was joking when it wrote the first ... even though the second one is based on the first and both were written by humans...

  • WOW, truth bomb hurts.

  • Cenk is a agnostic and he grew up muslim before that he does not like christians.

  • I Guess Cenk Never read the New Testament or he would know better then to Compare Eating food to being gay.

  • I don't understand why Cenk and MSNBC are quoting the Bible? How is that relevant to modern politics and morality?

  • -*in (not "on") the world

-is NOT a *choice (not "voice")

    @CommonSenseJoe

You propose "we are not animals (because we have a choice and they don't)" and yet homosexuality occurs in animals at the same rate that it occurs in humans.

Are now you suggesting animals choose homosexuality (despite earlier stating they have no choice)?

  • @CommonSenseJoe

It's most charming that after being challenged on "sexual preference" or "choice," and having the evidence pointed out to you, you still continue to spray the same nonsense as if you hadn't been challenged in the first place.

Anyway, I'll repeat the question for your benefit: If EVERY reputable medical body on the world says homosexuality is NOT a voice, and is NOT curable, why exactly do you continue pretending it is?

  • Ahhhh the dumbfuck, hypocritical Christians. Hate their bullshit, sanctimonious, ignorant, hypocrisy.

  • HEY, FUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKK YOU CISCO.

  • @CommonSenseJoe

And despite your mentioning of the phrase "sexual preference," you do realize that there is no such thing, don't you?

I mean ... you're not so ignorant as to be unaware of the fact that every, single, reputable medical body is now in consensus that homosexuality is not a choice, is not a disease or dysfunctional, is innate, and cannot be changed, right?

Because it's only the religious groups that state otherwise and you don't believe in religion, do you?

  • @CommonSenseJoe

No, seriously though... "Marriage is defined by sociology and biology"? Is that your real answer?

Can biology or sociology define something? I assume you're going to say, "yes" seeing as you have already said they define marriage.

So how? How exactly do two, abstract, inanimate, human concepts manage to "define" something--let alone a cultural ceremony such as marriage?

  • @hootieTV

(Pay attention to the normal use of upper and lower cases here.) So if, according to you, the "food" part of the bible is no longer relevant, but the verses against homosexuality are, what other parts of the bible did you decide were no longer relevant?

Did "god" personally assist you with these updates? Did he fax them to you? Or is it that you just pick and choose to suit your own prejudice?

  • @arthurneddysmith Read The New Testament! You Need to Read bout not just one, you can't just go by the old testamnet.

  • @arthurneddysmith Read The New Testament! You Need to Read both, not just one, you can't just go by the old testamnet.

  • I'm pretty sure God didn't write anything in that (or any other) book, so why is it holy again? I think to keep a strong faith in an afterlife, personally.

But, come on, no one really knows.

  • MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN A MAN IN A WOMEN! AND THE FOOD WAS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT THE GAY PART STILL GO'S FOR TODAY NOT THE FOOD PART.

  • @hootieTV

so the stuff in the old testament about gays is still ok but the other stuff like its a sin to work on sundays and the biblical rules on food isnt? so as a righteous moral christian how many homosexuals have you killed (leviticus 20:13)

and by not following some parts of the bible, you are ignoring parts of gods word, that doesnt seem very christian.

  • @AceofDiamonds0 Read The New Testament! You Need to Read both, not just one, you can't just go by the old testamnet and you don't learn about jesus untill The New Testament

  • @hootieTV The New Testamente is pretty sickening too, and none of them contain more truth than Harry Potter.

  • Actually the Red Lobster amendment is already part of the New Testament (Matthew 15:10-20) - where Jesus declares all food clean. There is no such "provision" that would repeal "homosexuality ban" in NT, so Cenk is a bit off in this segment.

  • @SDavidinho Oh please, the writers of the NT just realized how damn good that stuff tastes, so they let their fictional character repeal that. Of course, somewhere else that same character said that he didn't come to repeal ANY of the old laws. Damn, if you wrote a novel with that many contradictions your publisher would kick you out of his office.

  • As with every other "holy" book, the Bible is a big bag of absolutely ridiculous bullshit. Religious beliefs is and always has been the number one obstacle standing in the way of achieving equality.

  • @94mav98 religion promotes equalit on many occasions.

  • @atbigdog24002 Did you happen to notice that the law about not wearing clothing made with two different materials is in the same chapter with the laws about not lying, stealing, defrauding your neighbor and keeping the Sabbath? Are those civil laws too? I recommend that you read Leviticus 19.

  • @22Mrjsmooth So laying with another man is also a metaphor?

  • @Hellcasters You do realize that the law against homosexuality IS in the Old Testament, right?
