  • I just started the first one. I'll surely going to take my time with it before, going on this this.

  • @IdiosoAmericano Mass Effect is amazing man i rate it more than skyrim. All the quest and side missions and mysteries make the game so much fun, I loved it.

  • wat happened to this guy anyway? did he leave ign?

  • please tell me thats untrue, that means that the douche who reviewed the ps3 version shall review me3 and chat utter bollocks... Erik Brudvig would award the game a 10 because he is/was IGN's best reviewer

  • ahahhaa xD " remember me i interviewed you when you frist became an spectre" shut the fuck up bitch 1:57

  • Overly referential? Please, if that's an issue why do sequels, trilogies, etc even exist?

  • Best game ever!!!!!

  • STOP TALKING TO LUIGUMAM311 HE ALREADY MADE HIS CHOISE

  • itll be sad to actually have me3 in hand knowing its the last, but i hope it blows this one away, honestly the music, visuals and sound made this game more of the reason i actually played it, i thought the gameplay itself could have been better

  • Im not native to the english language so can someone explain me what "Overly referential" means?

  • @keshaz12 to, make a reference to a previous event to much. an example would be you talking to your friend and he talks about what happened yesterday to much

  • @JayDuverney

    Huh...

Well I dont think it is but what ever.

  • Best game I've played in my life...

  • What powers does the sentinel get in me3?

  • That you can :)

  • This is one of the best XBox games I've every played. But hey, Mass Effect 3 is also gonna come very soon! Go Commander Shepard! Finish the Reapers!

  • @SawBlood45 that sucks dude, never really had many run ins with those problems.

  • Overly referential? Seriously?

  • This is the best rpg game I ever played.

  • pretty gutted that im not able to play ME1, just picked up part 2 a couple days ago and im really getting into it. bring on part 3

  • I dont get why the put "overly referental" as a down fall i find it fun to look for references like heres onewhen hacking circiuts or what ever its called (im talking about the one u have to conect the correct dots to each other) in the mid left of the board theres a shape that look a bit like the mellenium fulcon

  • @comcody336 it means that the games story relies heavily on the first game and its hard for newcomers to understand

  • is is is

  • i feel the need to say this - i fucking love this game. i love it so much! cant wait for ME3

  • the fuck does 'overly referental' mean?

  • @nopantsnoproblem1 its hard for newcomers to understand straight away

  • wtf did you do to make shepard's face look like that

  • I was thinking about getting Mass Effect 2 but i haven't played Mass Effect 1 yet, should i get Mas Effect 1 before the sequel so i can get a better understanding of the story

  • who else thinks that the first 27 seconds of this video is fucking awesome

  • @DeusExFuego also, depending on how many microsoft points you have, you can just start playing ME 2. on the dlc menu in ME 2, theres an item that you can buy that is basically a comic book version of ME1. it lets you make the choics from ME1 and putthem into your ME2 profile.

  • @DeusExFuego

It's truly up to you. If you're totally into the story and plot then start from number 1. You won't regret it. If you are more for the action then go ahead and start from number 2. Thats my opinion. I'd start from 1 because I'm part OCD, but that's just me.

  • Ok, so I haven't played this series and was thinking about getting number 3. Anyway my question is should I start from the beginning or just start from number 2?

  • @EllboGrease27

I agree this should have got 10/10

  • This review would be a 10. But they didn't give an opinion on the sound track. Its awsome

  • Wow i didnt even realize how many people replied to my comment, haha thanks, i did get mass effect 2 and i cant wait till mass effect 3 comes out

  • reads the verdict:lets see...(spits drink all over the place) overly referential? why the hell does that matter? if anyone could tell me why this is bad feel free to tell us

  • @PinoyPanda26

    IGN gave uncharted 3 10/10

  • @GoldenGlove1240 and not this... disgraceful

  • Do I have to play the first game to understand the second?

  • @htnguyen32 no you dont i didnt even play the first and understood the 2nd completly

  • @htnguyen32 no but i'd still buy the first because it contains a lot of information about the reapers which you dont get in ME2

  • The world is gonna end in 2012 because IGN will finally give out a fucking 10/10 review.

    FUCK THAT IDEA!!

Ign is never gonna give. 10/10

  • @PinoyPanda26 they have given 10s uncharted 3 gta 4 ocarina of time pac man championship skyward sword metal gear solid 4 thats it

  • I really wanna get Mass Effect 3, but I've never played any other me games, does anyone think i should still get it and play me2 after me3?

  • @LuigiMan311 without a doubt, if your gonna get mass effect 3 buy me1 and 2, its dramatically influences your experience, and the 1st 2 are pure gaming gold.

  • @JustinWayneTM thanks for the reply, do these games take a long time to complete?

  • @LuigiMan311 yes, if you dont know what you're doing

  • @LuigiMan311 hmmm, its one of those ones if you really wanted to you could blow through it super fast but you would be missing out. If you put some effort into it and do the sides id say maybe 20-25 hours? Plus there is alot of reply value; good/bad, male/female, and the classes.

  • @LuigiMan311 5 developers found your comment

  • @surferdude7474 haha what do you mean by that

  • @LuigiMan311 lol, the developers have really been pushing that mass effect 3 will be friendly to newcomers to the series, thats why he said that. but really, if you want the best experience, play them all in a row.

  • @LuigiMan311 mass effect 2 is THE best game i have ever played in my entire life. go to game stop and buy it right now. you really don't know what you're missing

  • @fenderfreak215 i actually just got mass effect 2 yesterday and i am loving it so far, defenitley gonna pick up mass effect 3 when it comes back

  • @LuigiMan311 get the first one now, its the best one. and once you play it, you will finish it because its so good and you will involuntarily get the second one because of its awesomeness. then you will be ready for 3. all you have to do is buy the first one and the rest will take care of itself.

  • @LuigiMan311 hell yes, i would advise finishing 2 before 3. The mass effect series is one of the best of this generation!

  • @LuigiMan311 Step 1 wikipedia mass effect 1´s story..

Step 2 but mass effect 2 and finish it 2 times.

step 3 wait for mass effect 3

  • @LuigiMan311

I got ME1 and ME2 in a sale for PC so I could play ME3 having played the previous story, would definitely regret it if I played them after playing ME3.

  • @LuigiMan311

I'd recommend playing them in order, I did that so far.

  • @LuigiMan311 I'd recommend getting ME1 and 2 first. The reason being that you still have 2 months before it comes out and they're pretty cheap. This depends on whether you have a PS3 or not though.

  • @LuigiMan311 Play it in ORDER kid..

You'll feel so much more AMAZED...

  • @LuigiMan311 You should play ME1 and 2 before 3.

  • @LuigiMan311 Mass Effect is shit and I've never played it so don't listen to me

  • @LuigiMan311 you should play it right before me3 is being released. :)

  • @LuigiMan311 noooooooooooooooooooo, play them all, 1st to 3rd, in order. it's the only way.

  • @LuigiMan311 Play me1, then me2, and then me3. That's all i really can say.

  • @LuigiMan311 play em first

  • @LuigiMan311 If you're on PC or 360 play the first two. If PS3 then play 2

  • @LuigiMan311 the developers said that you dont need to have played me1 and me2 to understand me3 soo you should just get me3 =D

  • @LuigiMan311 do you know if you can import your characer from me2?

  • @LuigiMan311 play through the first two, they are amazing games.

  • @LuigiMan311 DON"T PLAY ME3 BEFORE PLAYING THE OTHER GAMES!

  • @LuigiMan311 One of the best features of the Mass Effect universe is that you can export all of your previus decisions from ME1 and ME2 and they will all affect your ME3 playthrough. As I see it, you have enough time to play both ME1 and ME2 before ME3 goes out. Just my recommendation :P

  • @LuigiMan311 yes you'll be pretty lost in the story if you don't play the first two but i have to say that ME2 is much better than ME1. the games will make you pick and choose who lives, who dies and your choices affect everything! def play the first two shouldnt take more than 1-3 weeks to beat both of them

  • @LuigiMan311

Get ME2 before it, you WILL enjoy it.

  • @LuigiMan311 get it before and transfer your save, even consider getting 1 cuz its totally worth it

  • @LuigiMan311 get me1 and 2 they are cheap now, play them and get me3 on release date :D

  • @LuigiMan311 play the first 2

  • @LuigiMan311 Get all of them, the 'cannon' choices for new games tend to be kinda horrid. Also, the first two games are fantastic.

  • @LuigiMan311 There are no words to describe how much u need to play the other games. Its like watching the epic climax of a movie, without knowing anything about the story. It's not the ideal experience. The games aren't outdated, not even ME1, so play each game in order and you will thank me later.

  • Has ign ever given a 10/10?

Because you really can't much better than mass effect 2, maybe mass effect 3 when it comes out though

  • what this is bullshit if mass effect 3 dont get a 10 i will destroy you ign

  • holy shit i ve seen so many time this chronicle trailer fucking ads only on ign i get this

  • @mj6823 And Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword got a 10... So..?

  • @Canucks4us It depends on who is reviewing it. The guy who did Skyward only reviews wii games so there is possible bias in that. This review was done but the chief editor. AKA the most difficult guy at IGN to impress. And ME2 still got +70 perfect scores from other sites so I cant complain. And IGN did name ME2 the best game of this generation. soo...yeah...

  • made my character look like Nathan Drake! fuck yeaaaaaaaah!

  • @tonyyy789 that fucking beast man i made mine look like duke nukem

  • just passed it for the first time on ps3, glitchy as hell but I loved it, will pick up 3, but not right away if part 3 is gunna be the same. Audio problems, characters not popping out in the cutscene, getting stuck in the air?, it crashed once when i played. this game is too awesome for it to be handled so poorly.

  • @SawBlood45 Really? I have played through at least 5 times, and I only floated in the air once... I saw a couple of glitches where they wouldn't talk for one line. I have it on xbox though. Not sure if it makes a difference or not? Do you have PSN? If not then you probably haven't gotten updates to fix those bugs.

  • @GaiaKnight1234 it happened to me a few times, got all patches , was even connected to ea servers for some reason. It's the game. There were tons of technical issues, more than ive ever seen in any game, Bethesda games in second place.

  • @SawBlood45 that sucks bro. Well I still strongly suggest you get the next one ASAP.

  • @SawBlood45 ya the ps3 version is kinda bad about that. its partly to due with the fact that the ps3 version was made using a slightly different engine, a "prototype" of the ME3 engine.

  • Wow, they really will do anythung to not give 10/10

  • Would the story still make sense if I didn't play Mass Effect 1? Is the story easy to catch up on?

  • @FinsterAndFinVideos I am not really sure but if you play ME 2 first than things will really seem very confusing at first specially because the game has too many references to Mass Effect 1, like the interactions between your main character and your friends from the first game, although the game does clear up what your mission is and who is your enemy and what are they upto. If you can't play Mass Effect 1 than I recommend mass effect wiki that will help you catch up on Mass Effect 2.

  • @fan977 ok, thanks :D

  • @FinsterAndFinVideos I think you'll be able to get into the game fine you will just be missing a lot of back story but you should be able to understand whats going on.

  • @FinsterAndFinVideos If you can, download Mass Effect Genesis. It'll help. You should get it on PSN/XBLA (depending on which console you use). I'm not sure if PC has it...

  • @RandomShinigami7 ok thanks, I have a ps3

  • Why did it cut to garrus when it mentioned how good the voice acting was? Garrus's voice actor was terrible! He always sounded bored D:

  • @Andrew00851916 Lol wtf are you talking about? Garrus has one of the best voice actors in the game :DD

  • skyrim got a 9.5. thats pretty good. but uh oh. wait a sec. mass effect got a 9.6!! ha. still superior to newer rpg games.

  • Dear diary, today OP was a faggot.

  • Man i DO not like this game... I cant stand playing it. Combat feels really stiff and boring, characters are not interresting, i hate the talking mechanics.. Now i really love Sci-fi and RPG's but this game just wasnt for me.

I heard so much about this game being so great and everything but i got really bored when i started playing it and i havent played it in 6 months. Ive only played it for like 15 minutes

  • @Zentrix97 Don't worry i know what's wrong, it's just your bad taste for games :).. Hehe kidding but, you can't dislike this game really its one the games that you call a masterpiece... I highly doubt it ME3 will be that good

  • @Zentrix97 this game is not for everyone.. but if you only played for 15 minutes then there is no way you can criticize the combat, characters, and and the talking mechanics.. you should give it another try, just saying

  • @kpinchy15 i actually gae this game a chance today because i didnt have anything to do.. the game was amazing, i started a new file and the opening and everything felt entirely different from the first time i played it

  • @Zentrix97 glad to hear that ! :) it just keeps getting better and better the farther you get into it

  • no best personal games is kingdom hearts

  • @kiroshi32 I lol'ed! Try again sir. Or add in a "my" into that sentence to make it your opinion. Or even better, just play Mass Effect and see for yourself!

  • Yes it ie check psn store

  • This game is not on PS3.... This game is not on PS3......

  • @ilikepancakes555 Yes it is..... Yes it is.....

  • @awesome696969696 NO!!!!!!!

  • @ilikepancakes555 It was late to it, but it is on the PS3

  • So psyched for me3 multiplayer demo :D

  • I'm going to start my 7th playthrough tomorrow

  • @GLORyON97 7th try 16th :P

  • @GLORyON97 Cant wait until mass effect 3, so i keep playing mass effect 2 :D

  • @GLORyON97 bitch please 10th...... fuck i have no life

    TOTALLY WORTH IT

  • @Iseex3 HELZ YEAH! 10th ALSO!

  • @Splashy151 Except MGS 4 :D

  • @MPC4Utube Seeing as you're intelligent enough to know how to file a lawsuit on someone you should probably realize that you can give the controller to a 6 year old tell them the button to shoot and then their flying through it so i seriously don't see what your problem is unless you can't seem to discern which button shoots. Also in the unlikely case you didn't get a MANUAL then you probably bought a second hand copy of the game and have no rights or basis to file a lawsuit.

  • @MPC4Utube

If your to stupid to look things up on the Internet, then a good game has just been wasted on you.

  • Compared to number 1, this game fell short for me :(

    Felt less like an RPG...

    ...BUT...

Compared to every other game ever, it dominates in every single way!!! ;D

  • @Splashy151

The very reason a lot of people like it is because the RPG is toned down, so its not just 10 minutes of fighting and 10 minutes of inventory managment (In some cases i packed myself full and had to manage my inventory for 30 minutes).

It feels cleaner and slicker that way.

ME3 is right in between, and if the inventory managment wont go to the same levels as ME1's it will be great.

  • @Splashy151 Dunno, the fact that they removed the annoying running-around-for-no-reason \ on the hub worlds from ME1 kinda made the game feel more realistic and more addictive. Besides, a little bit of extra polished shooting never hurt anybody.

  • @vinchisters (Don't want to start an argument here)

But Honest too god, I love the combat in Mass Effect 1 way more then in Mass Effect 2, It felt so much more rewarding to spend time trying to get your character to level up which slightly improved the combat with each skill point, and By the last mission I was so overpowered, I was having a blast (Pun intended).

Plus it could do with a lil more dialogue choices in Mass Effect 2.

  • @Splashy151 yeah but it has things ME1 didn't like guns were different like some snipers were single t or rapid fire continuous fire or 3 shot bursts

  • @sora44441 Doesn't really seam that important too have though. Just makes it feel less like a shooter... But really, what's done is done, It's not like they're going to change everything just because I'm a bit butthurt over it, This game is fantastic and immersive and nothing I say should take that away.

  • @Splashy151 true but in my opinion all ME1 guns were the same but with different stats the guns all had different feel to them which is good in my opinion it is a really good RPG so i don't think the guns make it feel like a shooter

  • @sora44441 Yeah I understand, It's not really an opinion either it is quite known to everyone that their is little too no difference with each gun you use. at least you eventually unlock the geth guns which brought something new.

  • @Splashy151 yeah i guess those were some new weapons

  • @Splashy151 i agree i loved spending hours looking for the best guns, armors and mods to equip myself and teammates with... im glad that they brought that back in ME3

  • @Splashy151 You tried every other game in the world?

  • @endejan Shutup XD

  • @endejan Shutup you. XD

  • @Splashy151 Okay, I understand you've clearly tried and experienced every single video game in the world and out of all found this your best game.

  • @endejan Okay, okay! You've made your point, I over exaggerated a little. Now I realize. ('-_-)

  • I already have this and number 1 they sell mass effect for 2 pounds

  • this game is extremely nerdcore niche shit, fucking hippies.

  • @porkyminch01 Troll.

  • @Splashy151 I have videos of The conduit and Crysis in my channel how am i a troll, this game is very niche.

  • @cptjaws done it. it's great. thank you!

  • @MPC4Utube You fuking retard , there is a tutorial in the game ass licker , if you're not satisfied THERE'S TRAINING VIDEOS ON SHEPARDS PRIVATE TERMINAL, if you're still too retarded to not know how to play the game, GO TO EXTRAS AND GO TO THE IN-GAME MANUAL YOU FUCKING TROLLIN CUNT RETARD!!

  • Mass effect 2 took all the mechanics of the original and made them shit. All my characters stats from ME1 were reduced to four different trees, all of which were rubbish.

  • @ItzRedsnow I do agree on the skill tree , but hey - Can't please everyone.

  • @ItzRedsnow You can increase the tree to 8 slots, ever heard of research terminal, it will help you increase your tree to 8 slots, and most of skills in the skill tree in the first game are now on the research terminal, now I understand where all the hate for mass effect 2 comes from, most of people calling it a generic shooter have not even accessed the research terminal in the game, very intelligent.

  • Im not sure if i should get this or Borderlands or this! Please Help!

  • @IROCK3556 This game will last you a while. Replay value is high. It's a very good game. My friend recently got me into the series and I've been playing it like crazy. I highly recommend it.

  • No need to argue..i like fifa, the other guy not..we have a different interest..if we do have the same mindset, there will be no skyrim and uncharted..juz play what u like..dont play what others like..

  • Mass effect 2 is dirt cheap now, if you life Si-fi, this is no brainer.

  • should i buy mass effect 2 or skyrim?

    Please answer!

  • @HerrGames Mass Effect 2. Seriously. NOW. GO GO!

  • @HerrGames both.... u won't regret it

  • @HerrGames i haven't played this game, but i do have skyrim. Skyrim is an amazing game with so much to do. If you like multiplayer games and with sci-fi gun games like this more than medieval fantasy open-world unlimtations get skyrim...really on your choice bro

  • @HerrGames This!

  • Perfections exist, believe me,

    I played it !

  • @MPC4Utube You think you can sue a company just because you didn't get a tutorial? Lawyers will just laugh at you and take your money, and there is a book that comes with every game that gives you the controls.

  • Just got the game and I love it!

  • what does overly referential mean

  • i hope mass effect 3 lives up to this..

  • About to start my 6th playthrough of this! Just in time for Me3. Probably the greatest game I've ever played. Anyone who is thinking about playin this soon tho, try it on a hard difficulty; seriously this game was designed for insanity mode. It becomes way more tactical, challenging and fun.

  • overly referential? what does that even mean??
