    from the estate of an Zampogaro in upper state New York.

  • For those interested the second zampogna played is a type of surdulina called a "conflentana." They are from the provence of Catanzaro in Southern Calabria. Specifically there is a very good piper in the town of Nocera Terinese. There is also a pipe maker in that town as well. There are only only a handful of men left who still play this instrument in Calabria.
