Geneva's version is a Pop Version maganda naman yung pagkakanta niya wala namang masama kung babaguhin mo yung flow ng song depende kasi yan sa kumakanta
ara mina is also a good singer. why not with the natl anthem. she sang himig ng pag-ibig long long ago and that version cant get out of my mind until now.
She did a good job though a bit inferior with those of her predecessors (i.e. Regine, Lani, Sarah and Sheryn)......but still, she did a very good job....atleast unlike the other one?...sino ba yon?.....na palpak ang pagkanta ng national anthem.....

i don't mind the way geneva sang the anthem. if, that's how she can sing it without embarassing the country, i'm all for it. what i admire about our singers compared to others, is they're patriotic wearing of the Philippines' national dress. compared to those other two whose get up can be compared to a street woman about to be picked up at the nearest corner, is very disrepectful.

The National Anthem should be sing the right way, meaning right lyrics, tempo and note. It is a marching song and not a burial song. Those pretending to be professional singers but dont know how to sing the anthem the right way should go back to grade school.

Geneva was awesome! I loved her rendition. She put her heart and soul into a beautiful song and I don't think Julian Felipe or Jose Palma would have had any problem with that.

Sabi daw ng NHI, the divinely appointed agency who is the only one in the universe who knows the proper way to sing it, dapat daw the anthem should be sang in a Marching tune or marching way.
I think one of the ways to make it nice to hear is to sing it softly. The audience becomes ill at ease when the singer strains so much and adds too much tension to it.

The gov't agency NHI, National Heritage Institute has threatened to file charges vs Geneva for her pop-ish rendition of the Nat'l Anthem.

She did a good job though a bit inferior with those of her predecessors (i.e. Regine, Lani, Sarah and Sheryn)......but still, she did a very good job....atleast unlike the other one?...sino ba yon?.....na palpak ang pagkanta ng national anthem.....

she butchered it! the national anthem isn't meant to sound that way. i think she had a hard time because her dress was too tight. they should have lani misalucha or martin nievera sing to help them promote their vegas stint. so we can finally brag about having full blooded pinoys being world-class. instead of associating with half-breds (kahit nga 1/16 pinagpipilitan pa din eh!). we're like parasites...always claiming to be this and that. nakakahiya!

i don't mind the way geneva sang the anthem. if, that's how she can sing it without embarassing the country, i'm all for it. what i admire about our singers compared to others, is they're patriotic wearing of the Philippines' national dress. compared to those other two whose get up can be compared to a street woman about to be picked up at the nearest corner, is very disrepectful.

I think Sheryl Cruz or Sunshine Cruz are the best singer among the Cruzes. But Sunshine now is just singing whenever using Cesar's microphone. lol

For me the song is good, but the singer is not so good. Need to have a good singer next time. No need for a diva to sing the anthem, an amateur singer will do.

Mas gusto ko pa yung kumanta ng Mexican National Anthem, simple lang at walang sablay. Itong si geneva sobrang arte kumanta, nakakahiya at pumiyok pa. Dapat si Regine na lang ang pinakanta dun at please lang huwag ng papakantahin uli itong si geneva. Makipag O-N-S kana lang tutal yun ang trip mo eh, hahaha.

she did an excellent job! she could have sounded stupid kung pa-marcha and pagkanta without an accompaniment of a band. it was an acapella. she did it just as perfect as it is. no one else can ever sing like geneva. she has her own originality. so, for those who gave negative criticism about the way she sang the national anthem, butt out!!! inggit lang kayo!

The National Anthem should be sing the right way, meaning right lyrics, tempo and note. It is a marching song and not a burial song. Those pretending to be professional singers but dont know how to sing the anthem the right way should go back to grade school.

i believe she did good. if you listen to sarah, regine, sheryn, and lani sing it it was almost similar except for maybe the ending. lets just be proud that we had a representative that can carry a note, unlike the girl who sang the star spangled banner.

Geneva sang it with soul and grace,why can't you just admit it?!Had she not been good enough to sing the anthem she would have not been chosen to sing the piece.Listen to each word and tone she delivered and they were all so clear and again I can't emphasize this enough SOULFUL! She was an excellent choice and our country should be proud that we have real singers here in our country.Crab mentality will eat and destroy our nation,so please if you can't say anything good then you better shut up!

Tsk tsk tsk ang Nat'l. Anthem eh kinompose as marching song para mabuhayan ng loob ang mga Filipino Patriots noon, hindi yung kakantahin mo na para kang nakikipaglibing.

i think she did well. she did her part and supported pacman. i heard sarah, regine and sheryn sang it as well and they all did a great job. kung ganon ang tingin ng NHI dapat they should hear again how regine, sarah and sheryn sang the philippine national anthem kasi parang pinapakita nila na sobra galing nila kumanta (of course we all know naman na they're good na), so dapat di na nila tinaas pa ang tono sa huli diba?

Geneva was awesome! I loved her rendition. She put her heart and soul into a beautiful song and I don't think Julian Felipe or Jose Palma would have had any problem with that.

hmm.. it isn't half-bad as other people put it.. ok naman pala e! geneva did good.. mejo awkward ung choice of notes nia sa huli, it didn't end with conviction tuloy. but nonetheless, we're proud of her! let's give it to her naman, at least hindi sia nagkalat! :)

I think Geneva was a poor choice for a singer of the Anthem, she just doesn't have the range for it. Geneva strains when she sings.
Sabi daw ng NHI, the divinely appointed agency who is the only one in the universe who knows the proper way to sing it, dapat daw the anthem should be sang in a Marching tune or marching way.
I think one of the ways to make it nice to hear is to sing it softly. The audience becomes ill at ease when the singer strains so much and adds too much tension to it.

The gov't agency NHI, National Heritage Institute has threatened to file charges vs Geneva for her pop-ish rendition of the Nat'l Anthem.
I think there is something mortally wrong about a country having the need to fund a full blown gov't agency that polices how to sing its Anthem. Our taxes fund the salaries of these people unfortunately. Grabe

i didnt think it was very popish at all... during the 80s my lolo actually prevented a request of change to the philippine national anthem because some french conductor wanted to add a few more "ang mamatay ng dahil sa 'yo" at the end of the modern anthem as we know. dont know if you were old enough to read that, but it was all over the philippine daily enquirer.

walang sablay, it's her choice if she'll stick to original (which she did) or taasan niya. ang sablay, kapag nag-aattempt talaga siya na taasan pero biglang nagflat. before the last part, she made two parts na matataas which i think she could do in the last part but she chose not to. props for her! di ko alam magaling pala siya.
