I just bought a 1985 toyota pickup today, the last time it ran was 2 months ago and the only thing wrong with it is the turbo, I'm in the process of replacing the turbo but the guy I bought it from said the new turbo is slightly to big, and I might need a mounting bracket, I'm completly new to this and was wondering if I have to manufacture my own or can I order one??? Any help with this would be great..thanks
these are keepers. awesome little trucks. my dad had a 1987 4x4 single cab short bed with a 5-speed. put a cone filter, an HKS BOV and 2.5" exhaust and it felt ALOT stronger.
@angeldemon821 I have a 91 v6 AWD Toyota Pickup, I'm still young, and it's still rusty, but I never plan on letting this thing go. I want to rebuild and restore it, get a better more fuel effiecent engine in it, make it quick, make it last for another 20 years hopefully :)
@wheeler8801 I think they're both great motors, the 3 Vze and 22Re, I have a short video of my truck accelerating if you'd like to look, but I don't wanna loose power if I swap which is contradictory, but I'm young. If anything / I'd like to find a 5 Vze motor that made its way into the first gen Tacoma's, it's a direct bolt to the tranny and is the successor engine. But yea, lots of options. When I have the money I'll decide.
No....they were bought aftermarket...my ex girlfriends dad was the owner of the truck...I bought it from him and blew the head gasket...I didnt want to sell it but I had no time to fix it because i was in school....
both 22r and 22re's were 2.4 liters i own a 84 22r bored to a 3.0 a cam weber with 10:1 compression i was told it get around 165 hp

they made these turbo trucks from 86-87 only and also its a 22r-te.

Those wheels were probably sold by the dealership as an upgrade package, from what I remember, mainly extracabs were equipped opposed to regular cab
