Самолёт PAK FA с большим трудом можно назвать российским. Большую часть программы разработки финансирует Индия. На самолете стоит индийская электроника и системы навигации. Это именно то что делает обычный истребитель самолетом 5-го поколения. Российская же часть истребителя - это корпус, скопированный с американского F-35, и вооружения. PAK FA еще не готов и дорабатывается. США предложили индийцам свой уже готовый F-35. Если инйдийцы выйдут из программы - России придётся делать PAK FA с нуля.

@RedostarFirst сомневаюсь что россия может еще производить свою электронику. дело в том что единственный завод по производству всей нужной стране военной электроники уничтожили. взять хотябы Т-90 - танк на 90 % состоит из импортных деталей. страны производители импортных деталей подняли на них цену и цена на Т-90 выросла в 2 раза. его стало не выгодно покупать ни россии ни другим странам. если бы россия могла производить свою электронику и на танке и на PAK FA она бы уже стояла.

It still puzzles me how it got beat by the Rafale in UAE when it seems to be much more capable of a dogfighter. I recently read how the EF kicked the MKI's butt and that had a strong influence on India's decision to include it as one of the finalists.
@TheARMAProductions From what I've read Russia is still having difficulties developing AESA and that is one of the reasons why they lost so badly with the Mig 35 in the MMRCA competition. Even heat-seeking missiles today have no guarantee for success. Check out DIRCM, which can blind the seeker, and will be on future F-35's. Stealth is still effective as it has been shown difficult to lock onto even at WVR, plus it still gives the advantange of getting the first shot off.

All I can say is that when ever the MiG-21 was pitched against an American plane, it won the battle, whether Indo-Pak war of 1971, or the Vietnam war.

@AlexanderTch And the Mig-25 was a copy of the US Navy RA-5C Vigilante with two tails. The YAk-24 was a copy of the US Army H-25. As for Phased Array radar, neither the US or Russians invented it. Everyone, and I mean everyone looks at what others do and takes the next step. That is how progress happens. No one wants to re-invent the wheel. Look at the Tupolev Tu-4 as an example. If one did not look at the competition and learn, they are only going to fail themselves.

Самолёт PAK FA с большим трудом можно назвать российским. Большую часть программы разработки финансирует Индия. На самолете стоит индийская электроника и системы навигации. Это именно то что делает обычный истребитель самолетом 5-го поколения. Российская же часть истребителя - это корпус, скопированный с американского F-35, и вооружения. PAK FA еще не готов и дорабатывается. США предложили индийцам свой уже готовый F-35. Если инйдийцы выйдут из программы - России придётся делать PAK FA с нуля.

@RedostarFirst сомневаюсь что россия может еще производить свою электронику. дело в том что единственный завод по производству всей нужной стране военной электроники уничтожили. взять хотябы Т-90 - танк на 90 % состоит из импортных деталей. страны производители импортных деталей подняли на них цену и цена на Т-90 выросла в 2 раза. его стало не выгодно покупать ни россии ни другим странам. если бы россия могла производить свою электронику и на танке и на PAK FA она бы уже стояла.

@TheARMAProductions I actually like the Eurofighter a lot. When it come to power, speed, turning ability, both at above Mach and below, it's a beast. It still puzzles me how it got beat by the Rafale in UAE when it seems to be much more capable of a dogfighter. I recently read how the EF kicked the MKI's butt and that had a strong influence on India's decision to include it as one of the finalists.

@TheARMAProductions From what I've read Russia is still having difficulties developing AESA and that is one of the reasons why they lost so badly with the Mig 35 in the MMRCA competition. Even heat-seeking missiles today have no guarantee for success. Check out DIRCM, which can blind the seeker, and will be on future F-35's. Stealth is still effective as it has been shown difficult to lock onto even at WVR, plus it still gives the advantange of getting the first shot off.

And besides that Russian planes always looked better for me. The shape, the form, the character, the feeling. I've been an enthiusast of military planes many many years and american planes are just boring, empty of that warrior spirit. MiG-29, Su-27 family - those planes just look like dangerous weapons. Not like plastic, optimized but still toys. First time when i saw Su-27 flown by Pugaczov - my heart nearly stopped. I just felt pure respect. Greeting from Poland now armed with F-16 :-/

@AlexanderTch And the Mig-25 was a copy of the US Navy RA-5C Vigilante with two tails. The YAk-24 was a copy of the US Army H-25. As for Phased Array radar, neither the US or Russians invented it. Everyone, and I mean everyone looks at what others do and takes the next step. That is how progress happens. No one wants to re-invent the wheel. Look at the Tupolev Tu-4 as an example. If one did not look at the competition and learn, they are only going to fail themselves.

@Russia2010: We are ahead of the times, our Planes are older than the russian Counterparts, aE, F-15, F-16, A-10, F-22 & we can still keep up. Stealth isn't just Russian, Cars are german Technology, and much Countries are developing their own Cars. The RAM is made in the US, the Phrased Array & the Stealth-Exterior is made in Germany, Russia stolen F-117 Technology, and China has stolen StealthHawk Technology. Germany had "Stealth" before Ufimtsev. ( btw he studied in the US )

Petr developed algorithyms/equations, which was used by the in the creation of stealth aircraft.
