  • I'm not that smart when it comes to driving terms when you doubble clutch your matching the speed's is it more easyer on your truck?

  • AMERICA!

  • @frankrulesall VIVA LA AMERICA! LOL! Thanks for watching!

  • I love doing this in my Dads 2000 F-350 7.3L. An upgrade to a Centerforce clutch makes double clutching a lot easier in my opinion, and makes the clutch a lot smoother. I have always wondered if you could float them in on a smaller vehicle. I am 19, and learned to drive a stick when I was 12. I really dislike the sudden disappearance of stick-shifts in non-comercial vehicles, like Ford's entire F series.

  • @bending1991 Glad the video helped! Thanks for watching!

  • do you heel toe for a truck? I guess its slow enough to take foot foot of break when rev matching. I try to double clutch in a regular car and it works really great. Great video

  • @hasido16 You can heel toe i suppose, but it's just a lot harder because the pedals are usually further from the ground and not as close together. I can't though. Thanks for watching!

  • Does it have to be a cincro gear box too double clutch? I got a 1996 ram 3/4ton v8 and im wondering if its a hydralic clutch, I wanna double clutch. Anyone?

  • YOU HIT THE clutch twice... hit once to put into gear and hit again back into neutral... and hit again to put in another gear and hit again back into neutral... and hit again to put into another gear and hit again back into neutral... while revin up the engine right? Confusing but i think i got it!

  • Is double clutching a requirement for big rigs. I drove a straight truck for a year and floated in and out of gears never once double clutched. Wouldn't it be easier and less stress on you clutch nee to to just bump the throttle to match you speeds?

  • @DriftAndDirt12 ummmm NO! try again, Double clutching is done in a truck because the Transmissions are NOT sycronized like in a car. In a truck You the driver are the sycronizer. There is No need to double clutch a car, Only idiots that beleive what they learned by watching Fast n The Furious think double clutching a car is going to make it faster...That is Unless you are driveing a Real race car with a Tripple disk clutch then and ONLY then do you double clutch.

    American Trucker

  • @AmericanTrucker4Life I second that!

  • Nice double clutching! i have to double clutch third to fourth in my pickup sometimes cause it dont fall in sometimes for whatever reason. You shouldnt float a syncro tranny cause youll destroy the syncros if you dont rev match 100% right. the chances of matching speeds 100% right is slim. you did seem to do it going up but not going down. If you feel any resistance when you shift it means your destroing your syncros. Even if you dont you might be destroying them. My advice: use the clutch

  • @everysubjectman I do use the clutch while driving throughout the day. I just demonstrated this one time for this one film that it is possible to shift as long as you match your rpms perfectly. I did this while going up and going down through the gears. I cannot float from 4th to 5th gear because 5th gear is too tall, as it is actually overdrive for my truck. Thanks for watching.

  • @franksg384 Well its good you use the clutch most of the time. Im a ford man myself. I have an F150 with a 4 spd manual. Im not lucky enough to have overdrive although i get along fine without it. in my opinion you should only double clutch a syncromesh when the gear doesnt go in. I have to do that sometimes in my F150 and sometimes my ih loadstar cause the trannys wore out. But i know you were just demonstrating. Single clutching is the best in my opinion

  • Mmm... I don't understand why the use of double clutch in some parts of your video because it seems that you do better with single clutch. Also why don't you use the clutch in the end of the video, doesn't that hurt the gears? I am not expert at all but I never understand double clutch in trucks. And I always thought that was something mechanical about it.

  • @Focha Not using the clutch on a syncro tranny will destroy the syncros if not done 100% right. I wouldnt sugest floating a syncro tranny. Now an unsynronized tranny, thats a different story...

  • @everysubjectman Thanks for explaining a common mortar the use of the double clutching on a truck. ;)

  • i took the test with nothing but your instruction and I did good, exccept downshifting didn't go so good. So you clutch in and say take out 7th, then clutch in and maybe accelerate-that seems counter intuitive to me. I bombed on downshifting, but I think I did ok for a complete VIRTUAL explanation. You would been proud of me. I kindve bullshitted the guy! I think he knew, I didn't know what the hell I was doing. The Clutch pedal released is when the engine rpm is sync with bk tire?

  • this helped. someone finally explained to me in simple English the why the clutch is. Good teacher. thanks, argyle.

  • @argyleed hey, who in the hell are you calling simple? i tried to be as technical as possible! hahahahahah! j/k Thanks for watching! Subscribe and stay tuned to the fun!

  • @argyleed Did you get your CDL and out driving yet?

  • @franksg384 is it better on your vehicle to double clutch?

  • well have you got into a semi yet? by the way, cool vids . ill sub yours if youll sub mine.hehehehe that sounds naaaaaasty.

  • @bctruck i drove earlier in the year, but found a job in engineering again so i quit. check out my video "my life part 1" and "my life part 2" for the explanation. thanks!

  • wow thanks for sharing i been trying to learn double clutching for 3 days and i just cat get it i'm afraid that i wont pass my test en 3 weeks

  • @CarlosArevalo100 hope it helped!!

  • I still dont get it... Why u should double clutching anyway???

I never drove a truck b4, but my car is 6speed MT.

I never do doublecluthing my car, all u hav to do when shift down is press the clutch, rev the engine a little bit, put the gear down, and release the clutch slowly...

If u do it right, the passenger will not even know that u have shifted down cos the feel nothing except the engine reving more than before...

My question is, can u do that(my way) on a truck?

  • Hey , That was a Great Veido Dude, Thanks , I will Recomend this too all my Class Mates . I drove Dump trucks for Seven yrs, I had no problrem with that, until I heard about this Double clutching. But You make it Real easy to Understand... THanks Again !!!

  • Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it. I'm here to help, so the more people I can, more power to you and your classmates! I appreciate the support and thanks for watching!

  • @skosankje Thanks for watching!

  • @franksg384 hi i know you have already been given alot of compliments for this video but i want to thank you for teaching me how to double clutch. one question though. you pointed out that you cant change into 5th gear without the clutch, why? iv been learning to drive in our only manual vehicle which is a 1985-86 or sumthing nissan safari and i managed to get into 5th gear with out the clutch. is it just different with different cars or am i missing something? cool video and thanks :)

  • hermano, just watched your video 5 times, my test is feb 3 and your video is making me feel more confident with myself, i was having problems downshifting but this is really gonna help me, salud!

  • Glad I could help, and thanks for watching!

  • try swift untill u get some experience then u can go on with a diff company.. but check'em out cuz i no they need drivers

  • Cool, thanks for watching!

  • did you try CR england?

  • Yeah, I'm leaving england and prime as a last resort. They have a really, really long "training" time that last for about 6 months, and after that they usually try to get you to do a lease option, and I'm not interested in any of that. 2 is a crowd because I'm not interested in team driving, and 6 months with a stranger is a bit much for me. Swift trains you in 6 weeks, then you go solo. England also wants you to go to their school and won't talk to you if you've already got your CDL.

  • what up bud, I saw that no body what's to hire you, its sucks I'm truck driver with 5 ex with clean driving record and I cant find work, I worked for Heartland express they suck, 1700 miles for 7 days on the truck...

Knight transport is checking my applycation i hope i get it! good luck to you

  • Good luck to you too. I'm suppose to call the Swift guy next friday to set up a february orientation, so we'll see how that goes. There may be a new video coming soon if it goes bad! haha!

  • i prefer floating......

  • I hear ya!

  • Cool, i was looking for help with this moviment!

Thank you. And, i drive with socks as well, is very comfortable and better than barefoot.

  • I drove without them hoping that white socks would show up better than black tennis shoes for the video because of lighting.

  • Great Vid! You can actully float gears at any RPM in a regular car, truck, or suv, because they have a Synchronized tranny

  • Cool! Thanks for watching!

  • @AmericanTrucker4Life you can but you should cause if you don't do it 100% right you will destroy the syncros

  • Good video!!! But where are your shoes?

  • I drove without them hoping that white socks would show up better than black tennis shoes for the video because of lighting. Thanks for watching!

  • I just checked the Schneider website, go to it and look up company drivers... I dunno if it helps but I hope so. (01-05-10 @ 2100 hrs)

  • Schneider said that they want 1 year experience. Thanks for watching!

  • Awesome video, man! Thanks a lot! Double clutching is definitely not the horror story I imagined it would be!

  • No problem. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

  • great job on the vid 5*'s!....nice double clutching action....you'd be suprised how much better that is for your clutch assembly and tranny...you got it down my friend!

  • Thanks man!! I look forward to using these skills on a semi-truck someday! haha! Thanks for watching!

  • great vid man, you spent some money on fuel to make this vid, very nice demonstration. Thank you

  • nah, not that bad. It was actually a 20 min video, but had to cut a lot out because traffic was heavy and I couldn't position myself like I wanted. I can go do it again right now and would have the entire 4 lane highway to myself. That's 5:30 for you!!

  • vid is not loading yet, ill wait a few lol
