  • You sound fantastic.

Don't cut yourself down, the average player can't tell your mistakes because he's listening to the good stuff.

  • so awesome!!

  • Beautiful, smooth and fluent.

  • Amazing!!

  • Don't make excuses. You sound great. Keep working at it and keep posting.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • please tell me where i could get the notoation for this? thanks Rick

  • shit damn. very good.

  • A lad your age shouldn't be that good at jazz lol. You're a great guitarist. Your right hand technique looks so smooth.

  • Now wonder you didn't go out for soccer this year. You were home practicing.... NICE JOB!

  • Excellent.

The Galbraith solo books are great, they have left-hand findering notes.

  • Great stuff. Which book is Barry's arrangement from. 5 stars!!!

  • Sorry, didn't check your previous comments...duh!

  • crikey dont do yourself down, that was great!! tell me r u damping the 3 bass strings with yr palm? thx

  • Thanks! And I wasn't dampening the lower strings deliberately, although I did in fact do it a few times.

  • NICE

  • Yeah man!! Keep em comin'

  • You played this really nice ..!! Barry would have enjoyed it ... : )

  • You sound like George Van Eps.Outstandng!

  • GREAT WORK! M

  • This is a very old video... I improvise stuff like this now, but I was playing from memory at the time. I got a hold of this great book called Barry Galbraith Guitar Solos. It has 13 standards arranged for solo guitar, in both tab and staff notes. The tunes include this one, Darn That Dream, In a Sentimental Mood, 'Round Midnight, For all we Know, and a lot more. I would suggest picking it up when you get the chance.

  • Hey man, don't down play yourself man, that;s a really clean take you did of Barry's arrangement. Guess your description is just a safe guard against all the armchair 'guitarists' that spend more time criticizing then actually playing themselves... You got the toughest part with these arrangements, keeping the shifts legato and controlled. May I mention that Galbraiths Jazz Guitar Study Serious book on Guitar Comping is great and taught me how to comp. Keep swinging!

  • I would pay to learn that. How can I get ahold of that arrangement or are you just improvising?

  • Great Man...!

  • Very nice job...

  • im glad to know someone young as you knows who barry is! im his great-grandson, too.

im trying to find some early recordings of him, so i will keep you posted!

  • You have a lot together for a young guy. Thanks for posting!

  • dude that was nice! good work

  • JESUS :D YOURE AWESOME :D :D

  • Really can't hear the mess ups. I use to play with my fingers but for some reasons I ended up using a pick. I can use my fingers though if an arrangement calls for it. Really great playing hope to hear more soon.

    Steve

  • Cool! Great stuff, I love jazz ... which I knew more of it.

  • I'm also a jazz guitarist. Great technique and rythme!

  • Very cool young jazz dude! Nice job with the chord voicings and good right hand technique...kudos to not using a pick.

  • Thanks a lot, bro. I feel I have more options in fingerstyle. I don't even use a pick when I blow.
