  • Love Quadrophenia and the Who and would loved to have met Moon the loon , what a drummer ......excellent .

  • Cheers for the guy who plays Jimmy in the accompanying video.

  • Is that John Entwistle singing the chorus, like in the recording? They don't show the band during that part.

  • mods 4 ever

  • Next to Naked Eye, probably the best un-known Who song to the norms.

  • Who's playing lead guitar?

  • Comment removed

  • @mikemoul ....it's Pete Townshend's brother, Simon playing lead guitar. I believe he still goes on tour with the band

  • This is the band that helped me survive high school indoctrination. BuddyT's comment is absolutely spot on! Was so lucky to see them during this tour.

  • i wish pete townshend's mind was in my head

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • Love how my sweetie & Petey trade lines!

  • You really have to look at Quad as one 80-minute song which is captivating at every moment. Everyone "song" is better than the previous one, which is amazing considering the album opens with a brilliant song like "Can You See The Real Me". Easily one of the 10 best albums ever and my personal fav.

  • Lyrics from this song were to cornerstone of my yearbook quote circa 1988. I felt every song from this album spoke to me.

  • Lying in my bed, listing to this album as a teenager....

  • Why doesn't Daltrey age? Townshend must be really pissed off...

  • @aportieri8 Cos Daltrey's an angel!

  • @aportieri8 He keeps a portrait of himself in the attic that ages. :)

  • @gitchigoomi good one! and classy!

  • @aportieri8 Who would have known that when I was reading that book in high school in 1979 that I would use it in a joke in cyberspace in 2010!! Peace.

  • @aportieri8 I saw them a few years ago...Daltrey looks incredible, completely ripped.

  • @aportieri8 I though he looked pretty old, myself... :O)) And his voice sounded like sh#t, esp as far as trying to hit any high notes!! But love these guys anyway-maybe it was near the end of the concert/tour, and his voice was just worn out... Then again, maybe it's because they didn't die before they got old!!! :O))

  • beggining was weird

  • It's partly in his head, partly his heart, but those pills have alot to do with it-not forgetting his loony mates!

  • What's with the brass? I thought the '89 'murdered by brass' tour taught them the fans didn't like brass.

What on earth was Gary Glitter doing on this tour anyway?

  • Glitter wasn't on this tour. He only did the Hyde Park gig for the Price's Trust.

  • song for song is there any better album than whos next????i cant find one!!!

  • @clamscam

I have to say Quadrophenia. As a troubled teen as many, Quad paved the way for where I am now. If you don't understand, then you've never been where I have been. But if you love The Who, I'm sure we meet on the same page somewhere.

  • @XPHALCON

    ahmen to that

  • It's a tough choice between two great albums but I think in the end I prefer Quadrophenia over Tommy.

  • Same thing here. Though Tommy has "See Me, Feel Me", which's an awesome song to be played as the final song of a show.

  • Yes I would agree See Me Feel me is about the best end anyone could come up with for tht album. The Who are easily one of the best bands out there.

  • La più grande rock-band mai esistita.

    Pete sei magico.

Musica sempre attuale nonstante gli anni.

  • The original Quadrophenia album is without doubt a work of genius! The film was a bit shoddy and tacky in places, though good fun! Perfoming Quadrophenia with running commentary is also well tacky!! To enjoy Quadrophenia you have to listen to the original Vinyl recording, not the Cd, which has been ruined with a re-mix!! What the hell happened with you pete? why fix it if it aint broke!!!

  • It's not just Pete, every CD reissue gets "loud" where the dynamics are all lost in order to get more bass.

But I actually really like the '96 Quadrophenia DVD release. Tacky, sure, but so what? Billy Idle is hilarious in this.

  • The greatest band ever, we are the MODS!

    Wink Jones

  • hard to stomach the video part...a little large in the emotive department...like bad silent film acting in 3D....hope the dude got some coin. otherwise, fab work from the 'oo as usual. please ditch the fucking screens, image and creative consultants and visual designers, EVERYBODY!

  • well said, leave the visuals to pink floyd

  • the who rules forever

  • I saw the quadrophenia concert 2 times. First 1996 Hyde Park Festival (3rd row in front of this huge stage) and second 1997 Festhalle Frankfurt/Main - Germany (first row!!!). It's been so great - amazing and and and...

  • FTM

  • Quadrophenia is so big

  • THE OX

    NUFF SAID

  • Greatest band on earth! I saw this concert 3 times in the UK (Hyde Park, Earls Court and Wembley Arena) Fuckin loved it!

  • What is it about the Who when in almost every song on Quadro Pete always institute some sort of a redemption theme into the song no matter how depessing it is...........I totally love it!!! Screwed my head up totally in High School. No matter what I thought totally mattered you just think of a "Who" song and instantly I bounced back as being a person who could handle anything---no matter how depressing it was. Listen to "Guitar and Pen"......talk about complexities and rising from the ashe.

  • The way I have seen it over the years, a lot of Pete's songs are about coming to terms with "Pete Townsend" the "rock god" and Pete, the flawed, crazy, drunk, drugged, sometimes shambling wreck, sometimes acclaimed genius.

Who the fuck are you?(Not a slam at you, just a question I am sure that has popped up in his internal dialogue many, many times)

  • @BuddyT Well said!!

  • Great video thanks for sharing im a huge Daltrey Townsend Eintwhistle fan!

  • LOL Even you spelled it wrong jackass its Entwistle!! Man i tell you what i wish youtube could weed out the instigators who have no respect for the true fans of bands whos videos show on their website theres always some tool running his/her mouth trying to make themself feel important .

  • I agree man the point is Entwistle is the best! Greatest rock bassist of all time

  • Oh yea he was a beast! One of my favorites from him is The real me he really shreds the bass line on that song.

  • Fuck yeah it's one of my favorite songs to play along with that and Punk and the Godfather are unbelievable for bass. He's been my hero ever since I got into the Who and became a fanatic haha

  • que moleque nada a v!seria melhor ter filmado a banda.

e quando o townshend não toca guitarra é uma decepção.

  • COOL SONG! CLASSIC WHO!

  • Classic genius Who!

I feel like that guy lately when I

    watch President Bush on t.v.

  • W The Who 4 Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this was my first WHO show. what a dream come true!

  • most of this dvd was shot at the nutter center, wright state university on nov.4, 1996. this was the first show in the states. audience shots were edited in from other shows. gary glitter was cut from this dvd, but he was there.
