  • A European patriot, a man of letters, well grounded though, and a passionate anti-fascist.

    A good man who knows what he does, and who speaks his mind.

    A fierce democrat, a German, a New German though whom I see as one voice especially of the smaller EU nations, clearly anti-'Merkozy'.

    (Even though I appreciate that France and Germany are friendly nations today.)
