On rate my music.com, I am going to make a list of The 100 Greatest Artists of all time voted by the people. If you want to vote, comment back at me telling me your top 5 choices. Every artist must have released their debut album before 1992 (20 years ago) to make it in the list. Voting ends on March 15th.
Only complaint I have is the misspelling of Grateful Dead in the beginning, other than that incredible performance and my favorite performance of Sugar Magnolia i have ever seen. Had I been alive in 1974 I would definitely have been at this show. :')
@VenusBeanable This was the "retirement" show, and Mr Harts return to the band. At the end of the show Mr Weir said "see you in a year with a brand new band". Of course they came back to business as usual until Mr Garcia checked out. BTW I was at this show.
alright this was my first favorite Dead song. I love absolutely everything about this band. They are my true love, and their music has changed my life, and opened my mind.
philoswalk,com-one man (also a dead head) walking from new york to cali for freedom. hilarious dude. walking for freedom. gauranteed controversy and entertianment from this man. live updates on his walk which begins aug 13th. check it out. follow along if ud like.
Great film from Winterland. Not a big arena, and very few bad seats , and the lower floor wide open. Miss it. Last I saw, it was a big apartment bldg. These were some of the best shows ever staged.
THANKS Hippies jumpin freely is a sure pick me up! My 13 yr old daughter just played this for me because I had to read all the lyrics for a RAP tune ! lol funny but true . Need to dangle my toes in rocky mt. creek to complete the feeling but will make this work > oh thx and keep on being you ! So I can be me! and remain free! Rick Wichita ks. via western slope Colorado
@UnconcernedCitizen people who couldnt mack on the cutie little hippie chicks, theres always a few, like dudes who hate the beatles.a good time is only good for them when they can control it and that aint no good time at all.oh well keep havin fun and they always go away

@TeloolaTwists totally. hunters lyrics are a fuckin trip, and the music the dead make to go along with it, its crazy to think if anyone can ever understand and make music like them again. i think not
People don't like it because it sounds hokey. It's out of tune, it's not even psychedelic. I'm glad I didn't drop acid at the shows I went to (Crisler Arena if that tells you anything.) I might have fallen under their spell!
@vr4runner I love the fact that you wrote "olde skool awesomeness!!" just showing you are about 12 I would say, you don't know anything about this group of musicians.
@Imeanwhynot actually i'm 27 and i've been listening to the dead since i was born thanks to my parents plus i've seen furthur multiple times. so don't be to quick to judge. peace
Fuckin rights you can tell by this music that drugs definitely inspire great music and great song writing. I personally don't do drugs but I can definitely appreciate that it does inspire amazing work.
This Concert was at the Winterland, It was a filmed for the Grateful Dead Movie released June of 77 . I find myself in the crowd... I believe it was filmed a few years earlier. Definitely Winterland , San Francisco, Ca.
The greatest rock and roll movie ever. The omnipotent grateful dead. 1974 was easily one of the best years ever for the band as well as '72,'73,'76,'77,'78,'79,'80,'81,'82,'83,'84,'85. yeah i guess i covered it all.Do ya notice no mention of the '90's? Because they were horrible, horrible years in grateful dead land.
Great performance, I wish I had been there. The dude dancing at the beginning always makes me smile. Bill looks a little distracted checking out the hot chick dancing onstage.
I too love indispensable bands like Sabbath, Zeppelin, Tull, and The Who in particular, but none have illuminated my life as has Grateful Dead. I only hope these concert goers appreciated what they were experiencing; I'm sure they did; how could they not?
