Kelly Joe is the man. He hasn't played slide in years. I asked him about it and he said he just hasn't "felt" it but then he stared off into space for a minute and said that he might feel it again soon. Bein' that you like KJP, you should check out Harry Manx. He plays almost exclusively in D and plays harp, to boot. I'll be pickin along to some of your vids for the next few days. hehe
Hah! This is exactly the reason I thought youtube might be cool. Where should I start, in checking out Harry Manx? I like some of everything, but lean towards the blues ...
dont know if you started to check him out already, but my personnal favorite album of Manx has to be Wise & Otherwise. At least be sure to listen to his covers of The Thrill is Gone (with an amazing indian intro on the banjo) and Hendrix's Foxy Lady... both of wich are on the album :)
I love your stuff by the way, your playing and singing are flawless hehe keep it up!
Hey, thanks! I'm fascinated by the lap-slide. Check out a cat named "Kelly Joe Phelps", if you get a chance. He doesn't play much lap-style live anymore, but he's a tremendous player.
wowwww. very very impressed
