So your priority is to proselytize first, aggrandize yourself second, and help poor kids third? How does that fit with the sayings of the person you profess to follow?

Packing 'manly' things? If the kid that gets that one later turns out to be gay (once he's aware of his orientation at all), would you say the same? There was no need to have said what you did, it came off as a coded attack on gay people.

It's great to be wanting to help and give to those in need, but it should be done just to be done and be nice, not with strings attached and an agenda to spread your particular religious message. Believe what you want, but that belief isn't what's going to give a kid a full stomach or a happy smile, the food and gifts are.

Scotty, I think it's great what you in your church are doing. I'm an atheist, so I don't beleive they're going to be receiving Chrits' love, they'll be receiving YOURS and everybody involved's love. I think it's more healthy for the kids to know that in the crazy environment in which they live, someone tangible, visible and commucatable cares for them. Beleive me, I've been to Rwanda to help widows and orphans, and your love is MUCH more powerful than "Jesus'. Cause they don't see a lot of that!

This is a really sweet thing that you're doing, and I'm sure the kids will really love it, but I think you're doing it for the wrong reasons. If you're doing this to promote Jesus, rather than to simply help the kids in the Dominican Republic, you need to get your priorities straight.
