  • I shouldn't really have been using that lace carriage with that machine which is why I was having so much trouble. I'm just too stubborn and was determined to make it work.

  • Is there a different carriage that would work better with that machine? Or is it just difficult to get those models to work with any lace carriage? I've just come into possession of a 323 model which I believe is very similar to this and I'd love to do lace on it, but if it would definitely be this much trouble it's not really worth my while getting the carriage.

  • No, none of the lace carriages are designed to work with those machines. The first Knitmaster machine that can use the lace carriage is 360.

I now have a Silver Reed 280 and the lace carriage works perfectly.

  • I wouldn't bother with lace if it were this much work! You got a nice sample, there, but too much work! On the Toyota, you run the lace carriage from left to right, and then the regular carriate, fully automatic. ON the Passap and superba, you do crossbed transvers for a different kind of lace, more subtle. But in either case, no hand maniupations! You should get a medal for all your work!
